An Alabama man is looking at drug trafficking and weapons charges in Huntsville after the Huntsville PD found fentanyl on Christopher Demond Ivey (30).
Alabama Man Hit with Drug Trafficking and Weapons Possession Charges After the Huntsville PD Found Fentanyl in His Possession
The arrest went down on December 13, 2022 shortly before 3 AM and involved the North Alabama Drug Task Force—which has an ongoing investigation. It is this investigation that nabbed Ivey.
He was charged with being in the possession of a firearm as an ex-felon, possession of drug paraphernalia, and drug trafficking. Specific details into the amounts seized and co-conspirators—if any—weren’t released since this is an ongoing investigation.
In November 2019, Ivey was involved in a car chase along with another suspect along Interstate 65 running through Morgan County, Alabama. That chase ended on foot with State Troopers and deputies from neighboring counties drawing down on the two.
Both surrendered and Ivey was charged with driving with a revoked license and outstanding warrants. Attempting to flee from the authorities is a common theme with Ivey as these offenses popped up in 2020 and 2021 as well.
Another common theme with his crimes is that there is some degree of drug trafficking involved most of the time. Also, given the time between some of the offenses, you’d figure he would be behind bars for longer periods of time.
At the moment, Christopher Demond Ivey remains behind bars in the Madison County Jail on a hefty $755,000 bond.
