Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister, Katia Aveiro, has implored him to end his World Cup campaign and return home amid his de-selection from the starting line up.

Ronaldo was demoted to the bench in Portugal’s last game against Switzerland, but the team managed to come out as 6-1 winners.
His replacement, Goncalo Ramos, scored a hat-trick to take the Portuguese through to the quarterfinals with a tie against Morocco.
While that may have been the case, Ronaldo was seen celebrating and leaving the pitch by himself. Therefore, it demonstrated that things were not all well despite the team’s success.
This is especially since reports suggested he had threatened to leave Qatar. With that being said, Katia had something to say on the matter.
In a post to her fans on social media, she said: “I really wanted him to come home, leave the national team and sit next to us so we could hug him and say that everything is fine, remind him of what he conquered and what home he came from.
“I really wanted him not to go there anymore, we have suffered enough.” Nevertheless, this is unlikely to happen for the following reasons. First of all, this is most likely going to be Ronaldo’s last World Cup.
As such, he will not want to jeopardise his chances of winning it. Secondly, by leaving unilaterally, it will most likely tarnish his legacy with the fans. Regardless of what the case may be, Katia has vowed to stick by her brother until the end.
