Border Patrol agents in the San Ysidro port of entry—in the San Diego area—seized a massive amount of coke with an estimated street value of over $2 million. The arrest occurred on January 4, 2023, at around 12:40 PM when a Volkswagen was stopped at the checkpoint and the driver’s identification passed the initial inspection.

What didn’t pass the inspection was the body of the Volkswagen. Something was up about it and the vehicle was pushed on for the secondary inspection. X-Ray imaging turned up something of interest in the backseat and the trunk and that was enough for Border Patrol agents to investigate.
Hidden within a compartment in the vehicle were 50 packages containing cocaine. The CBP weighed the narcotics and reported a 131.88-pound haul. The estimated street value of the cocaine was $2,093,700. CBP handed the driver over to ICE while the vehicle and contraband remain in CBP custody.
