The AEW All-Atlantic Championship has levelled up, and tonight has been rebranded to the AEW International Championship. Tonight, Orange Cassidy will look to make another title defense in his time as champion as he faces a legend of the industry in Jeff Jarrett.
Since arriving in AEW, Jarrett has been a thorn in the side of many – and tonight has another chance to become a champion, and his first singles title shot in this company. Last week, Cassidy took a guitar shot to the knee – and Jarrett knows how to target a limb.
Orange Cassidy Looks To Take Down 10 Time World Champion Jeff Jarrett
Jarrett might not longer be in his prime, but this is a ten time World Champion – and has more experience than most of the locker room combined. Cassidy would be thrown with a hip toss, before an arm drag – with Jarrett strutting between throughs and posing in the corner. Orange Punch was dodged, before Jarrett blocked the dropkick and hit some slow kicks before taking some stiff chops.
Cassidy would slam Jarrett face first into the turnbuckles, with Dutt preventing a followup by yanking his ankle. Jarrett would throw Cassidy over the timekeepers table, before brawling into the crowd.
A trash can was thrown into the face of Cassidy, but the referee was being very lenient – not wanting this match to end in a DQ. Cassidy gained the upper hand up in the stands, before being thrown into the barricade – sending him tumbling into the ringside area.
A knee crusher on the floor would be followed by Satnam Singh chucking Cassidy into the ring. Figure Four Leg Lock would be teased, but instead Jarrett would pay tribute to former tag team partner Owen Hart, and put in the Sharpshooter instead. Cassidy was able to counter out, getting a Sharpshooter of his own applied – with Jarrett able to counter. Sleeper Hold would be applied, but Cassidy broke free with a jawbreaker.
Cassidy Refuses To Stay Down – Defeats A Legend
Jarrett hit a knee breaker and applied the Figure Four Leg Lock, with Cassidy fighting free. Orange Punch was dodged again, and Cassidy was shoved hard into the referee. Guitar was slid into the ring, but Aubrey Edwards disarmed Jarrett. Cassidy got the roll up, getting a two count, before working to get Singh & Dutt kicked out from ringside.
Jarrett would turn into a Swinging DDT, and Cassidy did a one foot kip up. Orange Punch would be set, with Lethal slipping into the ring as Jarrett distracted the referee. Lethal used the stolen Golden Globe, but Cassidy refused to stay down and lose this match like this. Trent would take Lethal out with a spear, finally making this a singles match.
Orange Punch was stopped due to the damage to the knee. Jarrett tried for The Stroke, but Cassidy shoved him off the ropes and into the Orange Punch. Still AEW International Champion – Orange Cassidy!
The Outcasts Get Run Off By Former AEW Women’s World Champions
The Outcasts might be the most dangerous group the AEW Women’s division has ever seen – especially after Ruby Soho finally joined Saraya & Toni Storm at AEW Revolution. She was given a chance to stay on the side of the AEW originals by Willow Nightingale last week, only for Nightingale to be beaten down by the trio.
Tonight we hear from The Outcasts – and get an idea on just who will be looking for the next shot at the AEW Women’s World Champion – Jamie Hayter.
Soho would say that once upon a time, the grass was greener in AEW – but a couple of bitches pissed all over it. So now, Saraya is here to lead The Outcasts in fixing the issues. Fans are lucky they are here, Saraya is a miracle – and won’t take the hate from neckbearded fans.
Storm would lament being called an Interim Champion, and fans were happy to see Hayter beat her. AEW fans don’t know what they want, or what they need – but they’re The Outcasts, and are here to take down entiled rookies one after another. Skye Blue, Willow, Riho, Britt Baker, and even Jamie Hayter.
Hayter & Baker would hit the ring in their best denim and kicked off a massive brawl, with Saraya & Storm dropped. Soho would almost get beaten with the belt, but Saraya & Storm regained the ground. Riho would lead Blue & Willow to the ring – and also holding a steel pipe. The Outcasts would flee – and their actions have built an army.
Will The Outcasts find more members? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
