Anywhere else in the world, a match between Damien Priest of The Judgement Day and international recording superstar Bad Bunny would not be a huge deal. However, as WWE returns to their home of Puerto Rico – this match is massive.
Bad Bunny got a Stone Cold level reaction when he hit the ring with the Latino World Order behind him last night, and tonight – intends to prove his skills in his first singles match in WWE.
Helping him stand up to someone like Priest, this is a San Juan Street Fight – allowing any weapons around to be used at will. When Bunny first arrived in WWE – Priest was an ally, but his actions as part of The Judgement Day changed this.
Bunny’s respect for Rey Mysterio would only aggravate these issues – and now, Bunny is promising to defeat Priest. Meanwhile, Priest intends to end not only Bunny’s WWE career – but inflict injuries that end his music career as well.
Damien Priest Plays With A Beaten Bad Bunny
Bunny would roll a shopping cart full of weapons to the ring during his entrance, getting a heroes welcome as the entire crowd sung along with his theme song.
Priest remained cold in the ring – never taking his eyes off Bunny. They’d face off in the middle of the ring, with Bunny swatted away – but quickly getting up.
Priest would shove him into the corner and threaten to punch him out – by held back. Bunny would quickly bust out a Michinoku Driver, getting a one count before arming himself with a kendo stick. Priest would avoid the kendo stick shot, and ran Bunny into the corner before snapping the kendo stick.
Bunny would be planted with a scoop slam, before coming back with a jawbreaker. Priest would stumble into the corner and take two punches before trying for a powerbomb. Bunny countered into a roll up, before taking a Bell Clap and a right hand to the jaw.
Priest would jump onto a cornered Bunny with an elbow smash, before the South of Heaven Chokeslam could have ended it – but Priest opted to keep this beatdown going.
Priest would grab an axe handle from the cart of weapons, ready to bludgeon Bunny… but again, choosing to not use a weapon.
Bunny had no such qualms, and threw a steel chair at the face of Priest before swinging wild with a Kendo Stick. Priest would again beat Bunny into a corner, but this time took a Tornado DDT before being sent to the floor with a lariat. Bunny would head to the top rope, and dove onto Priest with a flying crossbody.
A Broken Arrow Nearly Breaks Bad Bunny
Grabbing two trash can lids, Bunny would attack Priest before clapping both on the ears. Bunny would go back to the kendo stick, but was disarmed after a few strikes. Priest would stumble into the corner and took a jumping elbow smash before Bunny pulled out a Falcon Arrow for the near fall.
Priest would look to walk out of this match, walking up the ramp – baiting Bunny to chase. Bunny armed with a trash can did just that, but had it booted into his face.
No longer concerned with beating Bunny clean, Priest would bend a trash can lid over the spine of Bunny. Earlier in the show, Savio Vega handed Bunny a kendo stick – but Priest would be the one to use it, swinging a home run into the spine before throwing Bunny over the barricade and into the time keepers area.
Bunny would be placed onto an equipment case by Priest, and would attempt to fight back before taking a Broken Arrow down through a nearby table. Priest would haul Bunny back to ringside, before kicking him in the chest. Bunny would duck a second kick, and Priest caught the ring post instead.
Judgement Day vs. The Best Of Puerto Rico From WWE’s Past & Present
Noticing an injury, Bunny aimed for the leg with a kendo stick, before hyper extending the leg with a kneebreaker in the corner. Keeping the damage coming, Bunny used the ring post to further damage the knee – wrapping it around the post. Bunny would whip Priest with a chain to the knee, before using it to yank the knee into the post.
The steel chair would be used next, sandwiching Priests knee with the post. In the ring, Priest would lure Bunny in by apologising, before hitting a kick to the face. With all honor out of the match, Bunny hit a low blow – before Finn Balor & Dominik Mysterio hit the ring to beat Bunny down.
Making the save was Rey Mysterio, working to even the numbers – but it wasn’t enough. Instead, Carlito would make his WWE return as a member of the LWO – helping Mysterio out in taking down Balor & Dominik.
Balor & Dominik tried to escape – but Savio Vega would stop them. Santos Escobar, Cruz Del Toro & Joaquin Wilde joined in – and Balor & Dominik were completely outnumbered.
Back in the ring, Bad Bunny would apply a Figure Four Leg Lock, with Priest nearly taping out. He’d manage to break the hold, but the South of Heaven was blocked into a roll up.
Bunny would hit the Sliced Bread No. 2 out of the corner – but only got a near fall. After beating Priest with the Chair, the Puerto Rican Destroyer got him the victory – and the crowd erupted.
