Since the creation of All Elite Wrestling in 2019, there has been a few possible ways to view the companies backlog. Around the world, AEW+ is an option for watching past episodes of Dynamite or Rampage. YouTube TV offers some episodes for purchase, as does FiteTV.
However, there is nothing yet that could rival the WWE Network – with AEW simply not finding a home for it’s library yet. However, Tony Khan might have an idea in the meantime – that being a Free Ad Supported TV (FAST) channel.
Tony Khan Thinks The FAST Format Could Suit AEW Well
While speaking with Gavin Bridge as part of the Monaco Streaming Film Festival, Tony Khan would pitch the idea of a FAST channel to air past AEW content.
“As we build a great library of historical content, it presents more and more opportunities for a potential FAST entry I think. I think that’s a decision we need to make in part with our domestic media partners, with Warner Bros. Discovery, who have great presence in the world of streaming, and figure out what makes sense for us in terms of our partnership. Because absolutely there is money on the table for streaming pro wrestling events…So there could be great opportunities there. Domestically we’re still looking for the right solution, and it’s a very exciting time for us because the streaming business continues to grow here domestically and frankly the value of AEW events continues to grow.”
This is something that is currently done by Impact Wrestling, with the ability to catch past episodes on services like PlutoTV. It would be a fine start to allowing fans to catch older content, but presence on MAX is what fans are pulling for.
At one point of this year, there was speculation that AEW’s library would be available on the relaunch of Ring of Honor’s HonorClub service – but that didn’t end up happening.
