Two years ago, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle repudiated their roles as senior members of the British royal family. The duo have pointed at unfair press treatment and other negative circumstances as the key reasons behind their decision.
After failed reconciliation attempts by current senior members of the royal family, many people fear that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may snub the Queen E;lizabeth’s invitation to her Platinum Jubilee anniversary celebration scheduled to hold in June this year.
Snubbing The Queen’s Invitation Will Be The Last Nail In The Coffin For Prince Harry And Meghan Markle
According to last year’s media reports, Queen Elizabeth extended an olive branch to the alienated royals despite the circumstances surrounding their resignation in a bid for peace with her beloved grandson and his wife Meghan Markle.
Nevertheless, the decision of the UK home office to refuse Prince Harry and his family police protection on his return to the United Kingdom remains a major stumbling block that could prevent the estranged royal family from returning home after two years.
A representative of the Royal couple confirmed this in a statement released a few weeks ago that reads: “In the absence of such protection, Prince Harry and his family are unable to return to his home”.
Although many royal enthusiasts are hopeful that the Queen will try to overturn the decision of the Home Office, if she fails to act, the Duke of Sussex and his family may fail to make the overly anticipated return to England before her anniversary celebration.
This will be the straw that breaks the camel’s back in a strained relationship between Prince Harry and the royal family. Moreover, sources inside the Buckingham also believe that the Queen Elizabeth could finally be convinced to remove Prince Harry as one of the Counsellors of State after officially stripping both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle of their royal patronages and titles in January 2020.
Despite the possibility of Prince Harry losing one of the most revered statuses in the United Kingdom and the growing pressure from their huge fanbase to return home, the royal couple remains miles away from sealing plans for their return to the United Kingdom.
