Jennifer Marshall, who is best known for being on the TV show ‘Stranger Things’ has spoken on the tragic nature of the current Russia-Ukraine War.
Actress Jennifer Marshall Gives Her Take On The Russia-Ukraine War-‘Words Simply Aren’t Enough’
The conflict has no signs of stopping, with reports even indicating that chemical weapons could potentially be involved.
While Jennifer may have no cultural connection to either country, the very fact of the matter is that she could not stay silent about the tragic nature of events.
In an interview with Fox News, she said: “They are suffering incredibly and feeling a sense of hopelessness that I’m sure is overwhelming. I struggle with sending a message…where words simply aren’t enough.”
Jennifer’s fully aware of the struggles that the military personnel will be going through by virtue of the fact that she is a military veteran.
Just a month after graduating from college, she made the decision to join the United States Navy. During this period, she managed to stay in the Navy for around 5 years.
This is where she learnt many different facets of the Navy which included aviation, defence, as well as how to repair things. Not only that, but being a veteran is something that runs in her family. In fact, she is a fifth-generation veteran.
Although life could now be nothing further from that, she understood the importance of the Ukrainian people continuing to stay resolute.
And this was reflected in her praise for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The President has been praised for rejecting calls to be evacuated and instead choosing to stay in the country to fight.
And for Jennifer, she felt that courage was crucial in rousing Ukrainians. She added: “And the importance of that cannot be understated.
“His actions are clearly inspiring many Ukrainians to fight as well, even if they have no prior military or combat experience.” Jennifer’s comments show that there is support for the Ukrainian people across the globe.
