In late April 2022, Memphis rapper Pooh Shiesty was sentenced to a little over five years for a Miami shootout in October 2020. It appears that once he finishes his time, he’ll have to deal with some strict conditions before he is truly free to go about his life.
Pooh Shiesty Will Face Strict Release Conditions After Finishing 63-Month Stint
According to the 22-year-old’s sentencing document which was picked up by TMZ, he will be placed on supervised release for three years. On top of that, he is prohibited from associating with his co-defendants in the case and his parole officer can search his person and property periodically.
Of course, there’s the treatment program for drugs and alcohol that Pooh Shiesty will have to undergo. Overall, all of this is expected, really. The shootout was chaotic and the circumstances leading to it demand that restrictions are put on him after he served his sentence.
Mind you, it’s not a guarantee that Pooh would re-offend once released. Being behind bars for five years while his peers, contemporaries, and loved ones go on with their lives and careers might prove to be sobering for the young “Neighbors” artist.
Or not. The restrictions are basically insurance just in case it doesn’t sink in that half of his young rapper’s 20s is gone because of something that was likely avoidable. As is often the case, staying out of trouble while incarcerated is also key for Pooh Shiesty.
On a brighter note, he didn’t leave his fans empty-handed as Shiesty Season: Certified was released three days after his sentencing on Friday, April 29, 2022. It is the deluxe edition of his platinum-certified debut mixtape. That same day, several videos were released for the album on YouTube.
