It is an incredibly sad day for the family of Kaila Posey. You may recognize her from the TLC reality show, Toddlers and Tiaras, or from the GIFs on your phone. She is known as the ‘grinning girl.’ Her mother, Marcy Posey Gatterman confirmed her death on social media today when she wrote, “I don’t have words or any thoughts.
A beautiful baby girl is gone. Please give us privacy as we mourn the loss of Kailia. My baby forever.” Her mother had shared a picture of her going to prom this year just a few days ago. She wrote, “Well the dress didn’t come in and the earrings didn’t. So we found a dress ASAP. We made it work. Prom 2022 for Kaila and friends.”
What Happened?
Back in April, her friends got pretty worried about her when she was on vacation in Jamaica. She shared a photo of herself doing a very dangerous stunt. The picture shows her doing a backflip off of a cliff and into the water. Many of her fans and followers were thrilled to see this stunt, but her pageant coach, Cambrie Littlefield knew that it was dangerous and she felt that she had to warn her.

Her coach replied to her photo, “This photo stresses me out… be careful, lol.” At this time, there hasn’t been a confirmation of her death, but there are rumors going around that she was in a car accident and that was the cause. It didn’t take long for fans to get on Kailia’s Instagram account and begin to write notes to her.
One fan wrote, “I’m so sorry this is so sad…I just can’t believe that this is all real. I watched you grow up and when I finally got to meet you, you were just the sweetest young lady and I wanted my daughter to get the chance you, and she did and it was great. I’m so sad that this has happened and as a mother my heart aches so bad for Marcy and I can’t even find the right words to think to send to her except I am praying for you and I’m praying that God comforts your heart and your family as you deal with this loss…omg this is all just so sad.”
This is such a tragic time for the family and we wish them all the healing power and love right now.
