Tonight, we will find out who the best technical wrestler on the AEW roster truly is. Daniel Garcia is currently trying to stake that claim, after defeating Bryan Danielson via referee stoppage recently. This victory is slightly tainted due to Jake Hager getting involved, but a win is a win. Their other singles encounter would see Danielson come out on top, putting their record at a firm 1-1 record. Now tonight, it will take more than a lucky pinfall or a tight submission to win – as it’s Best Two Out Of Three falls. It’s The American Dragon vs. The Dragon Slayer, with Ricky ‘The Dragon’ Steamboat as a special timekeeper!
Daniel Garica Puts Bryan Danielson To Sleep For Second Time
Garcia would take Danielson down to the mat to start, before ending up in a heel hook following some body strikes. He’d be able to slip free, before slapping Danielson in the face. Danielson would nail a stiff palm strike, before a brainbuster for the two count.
The Romero Special would be applied, before Garcia broke free and hit some testing strikes to the legs of Danielson. This would lead to Garcia being striked into the corner with some big mid-kicks, before the running dropkick. Garcia would be able to take Danielson down into an armbar, and nearly forced the submission for the first fall.
Danielson would break free and take this down to the floor, before Garcia followed with the backdrop driver. Back in the ring, Garcia would look to apply The Dragon Tamer, before Danielson blocked into the Triangle Sleeper. Garcia would counter into the piledriver, before the arm lock dragon sleeper for the first fall – with it being a referee stoppage. Garcia leads 1-0.
Bryan Danielson Shows His High Wrestling IQ With Slick Pinfall
Danielson would have to fight to his feet before the count of ten, but was able to do so. Garcia kept the pressure on with some strikes in the corner, including a running dropkick – before stepping on the neck of Danielson. Danielson would weather the storm, and be able to toss Garcia out to the floor.
Garcia would yank Danielson down to the floor, and drive him right into the barricade. The concrete would be exposed, before Garcia dropped Danielson head first and would ask for the referee to count. Danielson got to his feet at seven, and would be stomped. He was bleeding, and Garcia would kick in the head.
Dragon Sleeper would be applied once again, and Danielson was unable to break free. Hammer & Anvil elbows would land, but Danielson would tilt into a pinfall. It was a three count, and Danielson tied this one up to 1-1.
The Deciding Fall Goes To The American Dragon – Who Slays The Dragon Slayer
Garcia would be caught in the ropes after a missed dropkick, and Danielson would lay in some kicks before the backdrop off the top rope. Garcia was instead thrown with the Spider German – before a shotgun missile dropkick. This sent Garcia to the floor, and Danielson followed with the suicide dive. Garcia would be yanked into the ring post, his head and shoulder cracking off the post.
Both men would get into the ring before the count out ended this match. They’d sit in the middle of the ring and trade strikes, with Danielson calling for kicks, and responding with some twice as hard to the chest of Garcia. Dragon Tamer would be applied to Danielson after a blocked kick, with Danielson countering out and looking for the LeBell Lock.
Garcia tilted back into the pinfall, but this was not enough. Danielson would take the running knee strike from Garcia, but Danielson was not going to be pinned by one of his own moves. Some elbow smashes would rock Garcia, and Danielson would move into stomping the head in, before Garcia countered and stomped Danielson.
Danielson would counter and look for the Triangle Choke, and Garcia could not get the piledriver this time. LeBell Lock was properly applied, and Garcia would pass out. Danielson wins, 2-1! After the match, Danielson offered a handshake, and Jericho attacked from behind and attacked – but Garcia stopped this. He now respects Garcia, perhaps even more than he respects Jericho.
