The Canadian actor who appeared on the Riverdale television show has been sentenced to life for the murder of his own mother. Even though his initial plan was much broader than this, he luckily did not succeed in realizing it. The young actor planned on starting a killing spree with the murder of his mother. His plan then involved killing Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Finally, the plan was to end the spree by starting of a mass shooting in British Columbia.
Luckily, Ryan Grantham stopped after his first kill. He turned in and received life in prison. He pled guilty to second-degree murder for shooting his mother, Barbara Waite. The judge gave him the possibility of parole only after he has served 14 years of his life sentence.
Convicted Murderer Ryan Grantham Fears His Baby Face Will Put Him In Mass Danger During His Prison Time
Now, when he realized what he did, and what awaits him in the penitentiary, he is afraid for his life. The actor allegedly fears that his ‘baby face’ and the tiny, skinny figure will make him a target for abuse.
Regardless of his looks and appearance, Ryan Grantham is a person that is extremely dangerous to society. As such, the CSC will placein a maximum security prison where he will be surrounded by other murderers. According to Ryan’s lawyer, Chris Johnson, the actor now fears for his safety as his appearance makes him an easy target for abuse.
“My biggest concern is that other prisoners will prey upon him and perhaps abuse him. We send people to prison to be both punished and rehabilitated. And so I’m hopeful that the latter can take place. We don’t send people to prison so other prisoners can punish them.” – Johnson explained for Fox News.
Being a murderer, there is no other option for Ryan Grantham than to serve his sentence in a maximum security prison. It is inevitable that he will be around some of the most gruesome and vicious prisoners in Canada. And in Canada, the judge cannot choose which penitentiary you are going to serve your sentence in. That is the job of the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC). However, Johnson found out that he can send a request to CSC for accommodating Ryan Grantham at a lower security prison for a week.
“Almost inevitably a person convicted of murder in the first-degree or second-degree will go to a maximum-security prison for at least two years.” – Johnson said. “And we did find out that there could possibly be an exception to that. That is, you can make a request to the director of prisons. And, so essentially, she asked us to do that.”
While it is uncertain where Ryan Grantham will serve his sentence, his incarceration is something that puts a lot of minds at ease. The actor confessed that he loaded up his vehicle with guns and took off to Justin Trudeau’s home. After seeing that this will take much time, he rerouted to Simon Fraser University. However, he changed his mind once more and ultimately turned in himself into a police station.
