As surprises go, this isn’t as grand as usual since it was largely agreed by wrestling fans on social media that Bo Dallas was most likely Uncle Howdy.
Since Bray Wyatt returned, there was plenty of speculation about Bo Dallas possibly returning to WWE, and when Uncle Howdy appeared as a separate person from Wyatt, the theory seemed as sound as any other.
The news was confirmed by Fightful Select and PWInsider when PWInsider confirmed Bo Dallas would be at January 9’s WWE Raw episode by saying: “This should confirm 100% that Dallas is playing the Uncle Howdy role.”
While there is still plenty of speculation as to what Wyatt and Uncle Howdy’s relationship are following Howdy attacking Wyatt with a Sister Abigail during Wyatt’s confrontation with LA Night on last week’s WWE Smackdown (January 6).
The New Wyatt Family Grows
On top of Dallas as Uncle Howdy, there’s been rumored there will be a n Uncle Harper as well in homage to Wyatt’s friend Luke Harper (as he was known in WWE).
Erick Redbeard has been rumored to return as Uncle Harper, and it looks like Alexa Bliss will be rejoining Wyatt as well after her attack on Bianca Belair last week and her saying she’s the new face of evil in the WWE on January 9’s episode of Raw.
A brief video of Uncle Howdy played and he came out to question how much control Bliss has as the show went to commercial.
This is definitely a slow burn storyline with us getting a new tease or snippet every week, and we expect some questions to be answered at Wyatt and LA Knight’s Pitch Black match at the Royal Rumble.
While we doubt LA Knight will be that big of a threat to Wyatt to draw out the rest of the Wyatt Family, it doesn’t mean he won’t force Wyatt into not being up to Uncle Howdy’s standards and that could cause him and others to interfere in some way.
There are tons of possibilities with the Pitch Black Match, especially since the rules haven’t been announced so we’re all in the dark, pun intended.
This also opens up the question as to whether or not Wyatt is the true power in the Wyatt family, or is it Uncle Howdy?
It looks like Howdy is the one running the show, and it’ll be fun to see how all of that plays out.
