Since 2021, Bron Breakker has been one of the fast rising stars of WWE. Mainly appearing on their NXT brand, the son of Rick Steiner has all the makings of a main event star in WWE.
Having won the NXT Championship twice, including a match on Monday Night RAW to reclaim the belt from Dolph Ziggler – there is not much left for Breakker in NXT. Because of this, many felt he was a lock for the 2023 WWE Draft – but he would not move. There was a reason for this however, and his call up could be coming later this year.
Bron Breakker Is Impressing With Heel Persona, WWE Officials Wanted To Give Them To Let It Cook
In a report on Twitter, Wrkd Wrestling would share the following information about Breakker and his main roster status.
“Regarding Bron Breakker going undrafted; we’ve heard there were tentative plans to draft Bron to the main roster, but officials are so impressed w/ his heel persona, he remained in NXT to better cultivate his character. There are tentative plans to call him up after SummerSlam.”
Breakker was a babyface from his 2021 debut until losing the NXT Championship to Carmelo Hayes. Since then, he’s leaned into his heel persona with a rematch against Hayes set for NXT Battleground. Giving Breakker more time to explore this persona on the lesser watched stage of NXT is likely better for his long term career.
Add in that Breakker moving up alone after the rosters of Smackdown & RAW have had time to settle will help him get more spotlight. With him as a potential face of the company, WWE will want to ensure his call up is done right – as while it won’t be his first time showing up on the main roster, it will be his first time infront of many fans.
