Adam Cole & MJF have really come together as a team since being put together for the Blind Draw Tag Team Tournament. They are now just a few days away from a match with the AEW World Tag Team Champions, FTR.
On Collision, we heard from FTR – who felt that MJF & Cole were making a joke of tag team wrestling with their humourous video packages and dance breaks. Tonight, we hear from MJF & Cole – as they prepare to go to war with FTR.
MJF Is Ready To Give Adam Cole Another Shot At AEW World Championship
MJF would say that FTR had their best years when they were running alongside him in The Pinnacle. Wheeler is brave to rock a mullet in 2023, but that bravery will only go so far.
Harwood can cut as many promos as he wants about being a family fan and hard fighter, but no one will care so long as he’s not with MJF. FTR better be ready for the fight of their lives on July 29th.
Adam Cole would admit that he’s become friends with MJF, and is ready to give his all on Saturday. MJF would say that win or lose, he’s got something for Cole – a title shot for the AEW World Championship in the future.
Cole will get his rematch, because MJF knows how much this belt means to Cole. Roderick Strong would interrupt and shove MJF before warning Cole to not get too close, but Cole would tell him to mind his own business before following MJF.
Swerve Stickland Ready To Face Darby Allin Again
Since Swerve Strickland arrived in AEW, he’s been locked into a rivalry with Darby Allin. Both standouts of the Pacific Northwest indy scene, Allin & Strickland have a lot in common – and their matches are always must-see.
Tonight, they will meet once again after being the last two men in Royal Rampage. Swerve is keen on getting into the TNT Championship match at All In – and a win tonight could make that happen.
Swerve would lock up with Allin as the match began, with Allin getting the headlock applied. Allin would be lifted over the ropes to break the hold, only to go right back into the headlock.
Swerve would again put Allin to the apron and send him to the floor, only to take a Code Red before being thrown into the steel steps – shoving them out of position.
Allin would look to set something up, only for Swerve to leap off the steps with the House Call kick. Back in the ring, Swerve hit the diving uppercut – getting a two count.
Swerve would keep the hard strikes incoming, with Allin fighting back before taking the Flatliner into a suplex for a near fall.
AR Fox Shows His True Colours
Allin would try to steal the win with a series of pinfall attempts, including Last Supper – but Swerve refused to stay down. That’s the move Allin has beaten Swerve with multiple times, but it’s not enough tonight.
Allin would catch Swerve on the apron with a spear to the floor, before trying for a Cannonball senton and catching the knee of Swerve.
Back into the ring, Swerve Stomp was set – and Allin somehow was able to kick out at impact. Allin was set up for an Avalanche Powerslam, but blocked into a stunner. Swerve would roll to the apron to prevent a follow up, before hitting a Death Valley Driver onto the apron.
AR Fox would run to ringside and run Allin into the ring post, allowing Swerve to hit the JML Driver for the victory. The newest member of The Mogul Embassy would beat down Allin & Nick Wayne – and is now running with Swerve.
