Chris Jericho & Don Callis are old friends, which is a well known fact in professional wrestling. Their roots stretch back to Smokey Mountain Wrestling, and Jericho is the man responsible for bringing Callis back into professional wrestling.
So when things started to go poorly for Jericho in AEW, and Callis offered to support Jericho if he joined the Don Callis Family – Jericho was ready to check his ego at the door.
However, Don Callis never expected Jericho to accept this deal – and already had a plan to turn on Jericho. He even had a painting prepared, where he was holding the dismembered head of Jericho – a sign of his intentions.
He wanted Jericho dead, and hired The Aerial Assassin Will Ospreay to do the deal – a man who wants to add crushing Chris Jericho to his incredible run in 2023.
Will Ospreay Gets Launched By Chris Jericho
Ospreay would be dropped with a shoulder tackle as the match began, but was able to spring back up to his feet. Jericho was sent to the floor with a dropkick, and Ospreay hit the Skytwister Press. Back in the ring, a springboard forearm smash would land, getting Ospreay a near fall very early in the match.
Jericho would rise and trade forearm smashes with Ospreay, quickly losing ground again to the Aerial Assassin. Ospreay would be sent to the apron for the Triangle Dropkick, tumbling to the floor for the Baseball Slide dropkick.
Jericho would catch Ospreay trying to scale the turnbuckle for another dive, and took him to the apron for a Release German Suplex.
Back in the ring, Jericho hit a Vertical Suplex before a cocky pinfall got a one count. Ospreay was choked on the middle rope by Jericho, but was able to keep in the fight.
Inverted Atomic Drop would see Jericho set up for the Standing Shooting Star press. When he went to the corner, Jericho again caught Ospreay – taking him down with the Frankensteiner.
A lionsault would be blocked by Ospreay getting his knees up. Jericho was draped across the top rope, and crushed with the Shooting Star Press.
OsCutter was blocked as Jericho hit a Backstabber, before the Codebreaker for a two count. Judas Effect was blocked by Ospreay, who hit a Hook Kick and OsCutter for a near fall.
The Aerial Assassin Finishes His Contract To Drop Chris Jericho
Storm Breaker would be blocked, with Jericho getting a Hurricanrana into the Walls Of Jericho. Don Callis tried to distract the referee, but this backfired – giving Sammy Guevara chance to use Jericho’s bat on Ospreay – who was nearing the ropes. Ospreay would hold on, and broke free of the hold with some headbutts once he found the hold reversed.
Jericho was dropped with the Spanish Fly, before the Hidden Blade attempt. Ospreay took the Codebreaker, before Jericho hit his own version of the OsCutter.
Jericho was unable to even get a one count, as Ospreay kicked out. Storm Breaker was set, but Jericho slipped out and hit a sly low blow – before rocking Ospreay with the Judas Effect.
Despite hitting his finisher and getting a tight pinfall, Ospreay would kick out. Jericho took a Judas Effect from Ospreay, before Storm Breaker would finally land – but only got the near fall.
Ospreay would call for the Hidden Blade, and nailed Jericho between the eyes before a second Storm Breaker – and has now defeated Kenny Omega, Kazuchika Okada, and Chris Jericho in the span of two months. Next level isn’t even the word for where Ospreay is at this stage of his career.
AEW All In Breaks Attendance Record
Following this match, Nigel McGunniness would hit the ring and announce the attendance as 81,035 fans – a new WORLDWIDE RECORD for a professional wrestling event. This tops WWE WrestleMania 32 – which had 80,709 fans in attendance. AEW is becoming harder and harder to deny, and truly showed that with this record being broken.
The Acclaimed Have Arrived At All In
The Acclaimed thought that Billy Gunn was ready to retire after the second loss to House of Black. He felt he left Max Caster & Anthony Bowens down – and was ready to simply walk away.
His boots were left in the ring, and he was fine with his retirement – until House of Black beat The Acclaimed bloody and stole his boots.
They threw his Hall of Fame legacy in the trash, and Gunn will not let that stand. Tonight at All In, The Acclaimed don’t have Daddy Ass in their corner, but rather Bad Ass Billy Gunn – who looks to shut House of Black down.
This was announced as a No Holds Barred match as the bell rang – and chaos would ensue. Gunn went after Brody King, while Malakai Black hit a moonsault on Caster.
Buddy Matthews traded blow with Anthony Bowens in the ring, before heading to the floor to assist Caster – only to be hit with a big suicide dive from Matthews.
King would dive next, and even Gunn was inspired to fly – but was stopped by Julia Hart. He told her to suck it, and set her up for Scissor Me Timbers, with Bowens hitting the diving leg drop. House Of Black would swarm the ring to help out their manager, beating down the Acclaimed one at a time.
The Rumors Of Billy Gunns Demise Were Greatly Exaggerated
King would take Gunn to the floor to try to neutralise him, while Matthews & Black dealt with Caster & Bowens. This would not work, and Gunn would hit the ring for a two on one disadvantage against House of Black.
He hit a double clothesline, before some running splashes, and sent Matthews to the floor. Black took the One & Only – but was able to kick out.
Caster would hit the diving dropkick on Black, but was taken down by the diving Meteora Knee Strike from Matthews. Bowens would be overwhelmed by House of Black, ending with a three way strike in the corner.
Hart would pass King his galvanised chain, and he’d wrap it around his fist – and swung for a punch. Bowens would shove Black into the path, taking out the head of the House of Black.
King was driven out of the ring by The Acclaimed, and Matthews would take the Fame Asser from Gunn – only for Hart to yank the referee from the ring.
Black would nail The End on Billy Gunn – but unlike the last two times, Gunn did not stay down. He kicked out, and rose to his feet. Dantes Inferno was blocked, and King took The Arrival, The Mic Drop, and kicked out at one.
King was fired up, but broken down for a Fame Asser. Another Arrival and the Mic Drop would follow, and with Gunn helping on the pinfall – House of Black would fall.
The Acclaimed & Billy Gunn are the new AEW World Trios Champions! House of Black would hand the belts over, showing respect in defeat.
