We are mere days away from NXT Takeover XXX, with one final episode of NXT between us and the latest supershow. The last preparations will be done, rivals will have their final confrontations, and two qualifying matches will decide who joins the NXT North American Championship match. Let’s break down what has been announced!
Pat McAfee & Adam Cole Meet Face-To-Face
One of the oddest matches going into NXT Takeover XXX is that of former NXT Champion Adam Cole and former NFL player Pat McAfee. After being on commentary for a match involving Undisputed Era, McAfee would insult Adam Cole within earshot and things would lead to blows. Cole would be laid out with a vicious punt kick, and they would be placed on a collision course.
Cole will not back down, and he will defend the honour of NXT at NXT Takeover XXX. McAfee wants to prove he can wrestle just as good as anyone. Tonight though, just days ahead of their match, they will come face to face. Will they come to blows?
Two Final Qualifying Matches For North American Championship Ladder Match
Keith Lee made the choice to let the NXT North American Championship go, so that others can have the same opportunities he had. This has led to a ladder match being set for NXT Takeover XXX, where five men will aim to become the next champion. Bronson Reed, Cameron Grimes, and Damien Priest have thus far advanced.
However, due to Dexter Lumis being injured in the match where he advanced, four men are getting a second chance to move on. First we have NXT UK standout Ridge Holland taking on NXT Triple Crown winner Johnny Gargano, and then also Velveteen Dream finally getting his date with Finn Balor. Two men will head to NXT Takeover XXX, and it’s too close to call in both matches.
Also announced for this show is Rhea Ripley & Shotzi Blackheart teaming up to face Robert Stone Brand, Swerve & Breezango taking on Legado Del Fantasma, and likely an update on the condition of NXT Champion Keith Lee.
