We have already had some WWE Legends appear on AEW in the short period of time they have been around. They have had DPP, Bret Hart, Billy Gunn and Chris Jerecho, a future legend who was one of the foundations that built AEW to the height it is at today.
Now with rumours that a lot of people have spoken to AEW at some point. There’s no doubt that more legends will appear at AEW at some point and maybe even as future AEW Legends.
Mick Foley
Through the years, Mick Foley has played a small part in WWE with him being attacked by the Fiend a couple of months and having his own show on WWE Network for a season or two. It feels like Mick Foley deserves a lot more.
With him not appearing on WWE for a while. He could appear on AEW in the future. Mick Foley could even work as a manager in the future at the moment there are a couple with his style in AEW but they don’t need a manager. Maybe he could turn up in a future event.
Sting
It seems like Sting isn’t signed with WWE anymore and with that, a lot of people thought he could turn up in AEW a while back. Even though it hasn’t happened yet.
It feels very likely in the future. He is in his sixties so an actual match is very unlikely but just seeing him in AEW could be great. With him never really fitting into WWE, AEW just seems like somewhere he could make his home.
The Rock
This ones a weird one as the Rock hasn’t appeared on other companies before. He’s now a businessman and not just a wrestler. He’s just bought Vince McMahon’s XFL and if that ever comes to TNT in the future. We could see the Rock appear on AEW to promote the XFL.
Vince McMahon might already have some bad blood with the Rock because he bought Vince’s XFL. It could mean that this could happen in the future, why not go to a company that WWE are trying to slowly destroy.
Jerry Lawler
This would be for nostalgic reasons due to the iconic duo with JR. With him being less and less on the show, seeing him leave WWE wouldn’t be a massive surprise. Especially with his old partner Jim Ross already on the commentary team of AEW.
Seeing the duo together for one last time would be great. There is though the sad fact that it’s starting to feel like Jerry Lawler views are a bit dated but for one last time, it could be worth it.
Beth Phoenix
She has shown interest in returning to wrestling and with her husband returning to WWE, she might be tempted to return. Beth Phoenix is still pretty young in wrestling years at only 39. Her presence in AEW in any factor could be amazing for the women’s roster of AEW.
There’s a lot of criticism on the roster at the moment, though the All Out match is looking amazing. Beth Phoenix, a true Legend of the WWE would be great for the women’s roster at the moment. Even a commentary presentation could be great as a full time female added to their commentary roster is needed.
