AEW Late Night Dynamite Results: Scorpio Sky vs. Ben Carter

This was a special one hour episode of Dynamite recorded incase of emergency while they got bumped around by the NBA on TNT, but it has now aired and thank god for that. It’s a three match card, and action gets started as SCU member Scorpio Sky takes on the high flying wrestling prodigy, Ben Carter.

    Ben Carter Has Endless Potential

Only two years into his career and having been trained by Seth Rollins, Ben Carter is already showing potential top star energy, and is one of the best high flyers in the world already. Sky would get the early advantage as he got Carter in a hammerlock, but Carter would counter out. He’d nab a headlock only to be shoved off, and tripped when he came off the ropes.

Carter & Sky would trade armdrags before having a brief standoff, but the experience of Sky would allow him to retake control with a springboard crossbody, before being taken down with a deep armdrag into an armbar. Sky fought out with a strike, and threw Carter across the ring, but Carter really got moving now. He’d move around the ring with insane speed, and nail Sky with a dropkick, sending him to the outside, but not going for the dive.

Sky would get back in the ring and look to out-wrestle Carter again, but he’d have issues getting hold of Carter, until he’d run into a knee strike from Sky. A beautiful Russian Leg Sweep would drop Carter, and he’d then be stretched with a backbreaker. Sky was getting into the match, and would apply the abdominal stretch to Carter.

    Scorpio Sky Gets Fired Up

Carter broke out of the hold, and would pummel Sky into the corner with rapid chops, only to be decked with a hard right hand. Sky was fired up now, and he’d take Carter to the mat with a camel clutch. When Carter broke out, he’d just be dropped with a strike. He’d find himself on the apron, but kick Sky in the head.

Carter would roll over Sky, bounce off the rope with a moonsault into a reverse DDT, before hitting a running Shooting Star Press. Sky fled to the outside, and dodged the moonsault off the apron, and turned Carters lights out with a knee strike. He’d have his face slammed off the apron, but dodge the leg drop, and dive onto Sky.

Carter sent Sky back into the ring, and hit a big frog splash off the top rope, getting a two count. Sky would get Carter with a quick neckbreaker, followed by a Fisherman Buster for a near fall. Carter fought off the attempted Scorpion Deathlock, and almost rolled him up to end this one. Sky would set up the TKO, and this one was over, and what a match it was.

A wrestling fan practically since birth, who has been hooked since he got his first toy wrestling ring for Christmas as a child. Since getting access to the internet, he's watched more wrestling than he could ever remember from all around the world. It's hard to keep track of what happens in the wild world of professional wrestling, but he always tries to stay up to date. Note: No relation to Tully Blanchard of Four Horsemen fame (probably).
