All siblings fight, it’s a natural part of life. However, most siblings aren’t professional wrestlers and chicken farmers. That combination is likely unique to Mark & Jay Briscoe, and their sibling feud got a bit too heated for their ol’ Papa Briscoe. After dropping a tag team match to EC3 & Flip Gordon, they started bickering and it resulted in Jay not wanting to team with Mark anymore. Their father suggested they settle this the old fashioned way, as they have a Fight on The Farm.
Mark & Jay Briscoe Give Each Other Hell
This one was as expected, on the Briscoes Chicken farm. Papa Briscoe would be the official, who told them to keep it clean and fight like men. They started in a ring in their barn, where Mark quickly stomped Jay into the corner and wanted to dive the outside, but Jay smacked him with an old pan before looking for a shovel.
Mark dodged and stomped Jay out again, before getting him back in the ring. Jay would be beaten down as Mark looked for a moonsault, calling his shot and prompting Jay to shove him off the top and through a table. A jerry can was ponged off the head of Mark, as they left the barn.
Mark was thrown out onto the grass and dirt, and kicked in the side of the head. A trash can lid would be used, before a feed tray would be weaponized. Jay started up a board between the tray and the bed of a pickup truck, and Mark fought back with a low blow and a suplex. A dresser drawer was smashed over the head of Jay, as Mark used a ladder to climb onto the roof of a camper van.
Jay got up before Mark could go for Froggy-Bow, and Mark instead called his brother up to keep the fight going. They’d trade forearms and jabs, before Mark got Jay in a sleeper hold, before looking for a death valley driver off the van. Mark was countered and thrown off onto a tarp covered crash pad, a dangerous stunt all the same.
Are They Good Yet?
Jay made his way down to pin his brother, but changed his mind and threw him in the back of the truck. Camera man was told to get in as Jay started it up and claimed it was time to “compost his ass”. When the little drive was over, Mark had gotten off the truck and hit a leaping forearm before smacking a sign off his brother’s head.
Mark grabbed some rope from the back of the truck and choked Jay out, before setting up a table and throwing the sign again. Jay was set up on the table as Mark climbed a tree to get on top of a shed, and dove off with a splash. Papa Briscoe came over to ask if they’re good yet, and would help them back to the ring.
Back in the ring, Mark hit some heavy strikes before being dropped by Jay. Forearms were thrown, headbutts launched, until both men were on their knees. A lariat took Jay down, and Papa Briscoe finally got his answer on “are you good yet”. They got their anger out, and now it’s time to get back to what they do best, fighting as a unit. This one is a no-contest, but about the journey, not the finish.
One last cinematic match for the era, and it never really felt cheesy aside from the crash pad spot. The rivalry was good, action was chaotic, but not getting a winner in the end kinda sucked. Match Rating: 3/5 (***)
