When it comes to people who started up with AEW, Scorpio Sky has always been a favorite of fans. Even with his new heel persona, his smooth in-ring skills have kept him enjoyable to watch. Thankfully, fans will be getting a lot more from him & Ethan Page, as Sky has signed on with AEW for another five years.
Scorpio Sky Has Been In AEW Since Day One
While speaking with Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Sky would reveal that he had signed the new deal with AEW – which will keep him there until 2026. It’s smart to keep your popular Day One talents, and Sky is someone with a lot of obvious upside – even at 38 years old. He has already made history in the company, being one half of the first AEW World Tag Team Champions, and being the first man to pin Chris Jericho in the company.
Sky was pegged early on as someone who could even be the first Triple Crown Champion in the company, needing the TNT and AEW World Championships to achieve this goal. He has challenged for both titles a few times and hasn’t claimed them, but with Ethan Page & American Top Team behind him – things could change.
A Big Match Coming This Week
Tomorrow night on AEW Rampage, Scorpio Sky is in another big time matchup. He will be facing Chris Jericho, Jake Hager & TNT Champion Sammy Guevara. However, with Ethan Page and former UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior Dos Santos. This is the wrestling debut of Dos Santos, and having Sky & Page trusted to help guide the team shows the trust AEW has in both men.
Sadly, Chris Jericho & The Inner Circle have a way of making sure they get these big wins. The money match in this feud is Jorge Masvidal vs. Chris Jericho – after Masvidal took Jericho out with a huge knee strike recently. Page & Sky are getting some serious exposure from this angle, but will play a starring role some other time.
