Otis Anderson Jr, who happened to play American football for the UFC Knights, has reportedly been shot dead following a dispute over a dog bite.

According to reports, Otis’ mother Denise claimed the incident had happened at her house in which an altercation had ensued after Otis’ girlfriend had a dog that ended up biting his father Otis Anderson Sr.
As a consequence, things got out of hand as Otis ended up being killed. When the police arrived, Otis was found with a gunshot wound. He was taken to hospital, after which he was declared dead.
Meanwhile, Denise had suffered some grazes but was released from the hospital. The timeline over Otis’ death is not clear, but there is enough for the police to act on.
As of now, authorities have responded by arresting Otis’ father and charging him with the crime. He has been accused of first-degree murder. Otis Sr is expected to attend court in December, as part of the investigation into this case.
The news naturally shocked the whole sporting community for several reasons. First of all, not only was Otis a well-renowned player, but he died at the age of just 23. He clearly went before his time and left behind a girlfriend who is in mourning.
In an official statement given by the UFC Knights, they said: “We have now confirmed and are devastated to hear of the passing of Otis Anderson Jr.
“He was revered by his teammates, our fans, and everyone within Knight Nation. Our deepest condolences go out to everyone who loved Otis. He was taken too soon and will truly be missed.”
The response on social media was one of sadness. People decried the fact that a sporting star had to suffer this tragic fate.
