When it comes to random matches, it doesn’t get better than a 10 man tag with random entrants! It’s a wildcard tag, and no one knew the teams until now – but Danhausen is on commentary due to his feeble human leg being broken. The Bouncers, Cheeseburger, Flip Gordon, and PJ Black were the first team. LSG, Demonic Flamita, Will Ferrara, SLEDGE! Danhausen doesn’t care for Sludge, or Steve, or whatever his name is. Finally, Max The Impaler is here, the non-binary nightmare themself.

    Wildcard Tag Team Insanity

CB would start with Ferrera, with Code of Honor adhered too. They’d kick off with some fast chain wrestling, showing they know each other so damn well. Flip & Flamita would square off in the ring, and the action was just as fast. Flamita would be taken onto the shoulders of Gordon, but Black couldn’t get the Doomsday Device. LSG had some time in the ring, before Max let themselves into the match.

They wanted The Bouncers, and got them as a two on one attack took Max down. Sledge got the tag, but PJ Black took him down with a superkick. LSG would nail the springboard forearm, CB nailed a shotei and Flamita got the big tigerbomb! Max would take Bruiser out with ease, before going after Milonas with some Vader style shots in the corner before a giant spear!

Bruiser threw Max into the barricade, and Milonas came off the apron with a crossbody on Steve. Gordon nailed a flip over the top rope, still thinking it’s 2019. Sledge went up top, and came down with a moonsault. CB wanted to fly, but Max caught him and hit a superplex off the apron.

Flamita slowed the pace down before deciding he did want to dive, doing a 970 spin off the top rope according to Danhausen. LSG would dive into a cutter from Gordon, and Black hit the BlackFlip and got the win!

Just an insane spotfest of a match. Max The Impaler had their best showing yet, and the final stretch and finish was very impressive and fun. Match Rating: 2.5/5 (** 1/2)

That match ended the Hour One pre-show, but the action was just getting started! Rey Horus & Dragon Lee are two of the top luchadors left in Ring of Honor, and have crossed pathes a few times over the last few years. At Glory By Honor, they met in tag team action, and Dragon Lee started 2021 with a title defense as ROH World TV Champion. Every single time they’ve met, Dragon Lee has won – but can that change tonight?

Rey Horus & Dragon Lee Put It All On The Line

They’d hug it out to start this one, just being ready to steal the show. Horus & Lee locked up and exchanged some chain wrestling and strikes before Horus threw Lee off by sliding out of the ring… only for Lee to soar out with a perfect dive to the outside. Horus would be thrown out into the crowd, before being rammed into the ringpost and slammed on the floor!

Back in the ring, Lee nailed a spinebuster right into a single leg crab, but Horus was able to grab the ropes. Horus was thrown into the corner, and Lee would nail some forearms but the hesitation dropkick was blocked. Lee was sent outside with a body scissor takedown, before Horus was able to redirect the dive, with Lee thinking he dodged. Horus would chuck Lee into the corner with a Belly to Belly Suplex before a running dropkick to the face. He’d call for the brainbuster, but Lee had a counter and got a set of big backbreakers.

Horus would come back with some forearm blows, with Lee ready to trade blows. A boot to the jaw was met with one in return, the snap german with a rolling elbow. The pumping knee with a spanish fly! They know each other so well, and were throwing out all the shots. Lee went high risk, but Horus hit the ropes before the Body Scissor Driver from the top rope got a two count.

The splash was blocked into waiting double knees, but Lee went for a backbreaker and took the huge tornado DDT! A DDT attempt from Horus was blocked into a Falcon Arrow, before Lee nailed the Incinerator knee. Horus somehow kicked out, but two more heavy knee strikes got the win.

These two have perfect chemistry and timing after many matches, and they had one of their best ever tonight. Match Rating: 4/5 (****)

After this match, we’d hear from former ROH Triple Crown champion Eddie Edwards. He thanked ROH for getting him the spotlight in his career. The business will never be the same without ROH, and he hopes they are back and better than ever in April 2022. What was your favorite Eddie Edwards match in ROH? Since getting access to the internet, he's watched more wrestling than he could ever remember from all around the world.
