We’ve already seen Ruby Soho punch her tickets to the finals of the TBS Championship tournament next week – but who will join her? We have Thunder Rosa and Jade Cargill going at it tonight, in what is as much a grudge match as a tournament match. Cargill has been undefeated in AEW since her debut – and some of those wins came at the expense of the students of Rosa. Some brutal brawls would follow, and tonight they’ll meet one on one.

Brandi Rhodes Has No Patience For Men Like Dan Lambert

Before this match, we’d get to see Dan Lambert & Men of The Year provoke The Nightmare Family, as he tries to get a shot at the TNT Championship for his clients. This included calling Brandi Rhodes a stripper – and shit hit the ring without fear. Upon being called a less talented Paul Heyman, Lambert said he prefers Jim Cornette.

Brandi offered to give Lambert a chance to be beat up by a woman without having to pay for it first, and was ready to throw hands before Dustin Rhodes hit the ring to save Lambert, Page & Sky from being mauled. Instead, Page hit a back elbow on Dustin, and the segment ended without Cody Rhodes even showing up.

Thunder Rosa & Jade Cargill Brawl It Out To Kick The Match Off

Coming into this match, Cargill is 21-0, but Thunder Rosa is 39-4 in 2021 and was dressed as Wolverine. She’d dash in with a low dropkick, which sent Cargill to the outside. Rosa would hit a rolling senton onto Mark Sterling, before Cargill got a forearm while Rosa had her back turned. A brawl on the outside saw Rosa drive Cargill spine first into the ring apron, before avoiding Jaded onto the apron.

Rosa would get onto the apron and hit a crossbody attempt, only to be caught into a backbreaker. Another low dropkick sent Cargill flying, with the knee a clear target for Rosa. Even with one good leg, Cargill threw Rosa into the ring post – head meeting steel. Taking Rosa back into the ring, Cargill missed a charge into the corner and took a dragon screw in the ropes.

Rosa would hit a back elbow, before being knocked down with a huge pump kick – before having the ankle picked for more attacks to the knee. Cargill would lift Rosa up into a front chancery, before hitting a front suplex. The knee was still giving issues, and Rosa was pulling her deeper and deeper into a long match – something Cargill isn’t used to.

Jade Cargill Gets Help On Her Way To The Finals

Rosa would counter a delayed suplex into a crossbody, before trapping Cargill in the corner for strikes to the knee. The calculated attack on the knee was working, but Cargill still hit the big Samoan Drop. She’d take Rosa up into the Canadian Backbreaker, but couldn’t follow up with a pin.

A knee breaker would set up the Figure Four Leg Lock for Rosa, and Cargill was pushing hard to reach the rope – and she got the ropes. Sterling gave his client some water, and the referee opposed this. Cargill kicked Rosa into the corner and a masked assailant nailed Rosa with something, before Jaded won the match.

After the match, the attacker was revealed as Mercedes Martinez! Now back in AEW for the first time in years, she would help beat down Rosa after the match, but Ruby Soho made the save.

Who will claim the TBS Championship? Jade Cargill or Ruby Soho? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
