Martha Stewart has had plenty of time to look back at the moment in which she was struck by lightning.
Martha Stewart Recalls Being Hit By Lightning On Three Occasions-‘I Attract Electricity’
The star, who is well known for being an advocate for healthy lifestyles, is now 80-years-old. And with that life experience, she has seen a lot through her lifetime.
And yet, it could have all ended a lot earlier during the moment in which she described being hit by lightning. But rather than it being a one-off occurrence, it turned out that she was hit by it on none other than three occasions.
In an interview on the ‘Ellen DeGeneres’ Show, Martha tried to see the funny side of the experience. She said: “Yeah, I mean, it’s like crazy. I think it actually is good for you. If it doesn’t kill you, I think it’s good for you.”
But just as shocking were the circumstances in which the lightning had hit her. Martha recalled how her husband was in the presence of one of them, which made him feel very anxious by virtue of the fact that he was not sure whether or not matter she was going to be ok.
But through it all, she managed to keep herself well, which is why she now laughs about it. She added: “I was leaning against an iron sink.
“And I saw the lightning go down the pipe out in my garden and then it came back up through the water and hit me right in my stomach…”I attract electricity.”
And equally as bizarre were her experiences in her love life. She was once dating legendary actor Anthony Hopkins.
But given that the latter had played the character of Hannibal Lecter in the ‘Silence of the Lambs,’ she decided to end her relationship with him because she could not distinguish between the man and the fictional character.
Her following comments confirmed as much: “I have a big, scary house in Maine that’s way by itself on a hundred acres in the forest and I couldn’t even imagine taking Anthony Hopkins there.”
