After rehabbing a leg injury, Mance Warner would make his return in the biggest way possible. Showing up in Hammerstein Ballroom for GCW’s biggest show ever with a live mic. However, Atticus Cougar would stop this feel good moment in it’s tracks. Cougar would basically run down GCW and their management – saying that everyone got their chances tonight, but not him.
Sabu Saves Second Gear Crew
Warner wasn’t clear to wrestle, but was ready to fight it out. Cougar would beat him into the corner, and Matthew Justice made the save – another member of Second Gear Crew. 44OH members would rush the ring, and a three on two advantage would almost see Warner & Justice get skewered.
The Lights Went out, and Sabu would be there will Bill Alfonso to make the save. Sabu & Warner would throw some chairs, before a DDT from Alfonso and a huge splash from Justice. Bill Alfonso counted the pinfall, winning an unofficial match.
Allie Katch Gets Her Dream Match
When Ruby Soho started to dip her feet back into the world of indy wrestling after years in WWE – people took notice. Namely the likes of Allie Katch, who has been wanting to wrestle Soho since she was a rookie. Tonight, Katch has the biggest match of her career on a personal level – and fittingly it’s in a legendary arena.
These two fan favourites shook hands to start this one, as the crowd settled into some duelling chants. Soho got a shoulder tackle on Katch, before the attempt at an O’Conner Roll. Katch blocked and was able to avoid a flash No Future Kick. She’d nearly nail the piledriver, but Soho had it scouted.
A dropkick landed on Soho, who fired back with Deadly Nightshade in the corner. Katch would nearly get a Death Valley Driver, before nailing a Deadly Nightshade of her own before some running lariats and hip attacks. Soho & Katch traded some forearm blows, before Katch hit a big boot to the face and a release German Suplex.
Soho Katches Allie With A No Future Kick
Katch went for the No Future Kick, but Soho blocked and hit a Saito Suplex. Soho would catch Katch on the top rope with an armdrag down to the floor. The flatliner landed, but Katch kicked out at two. Soho would hit Rubycarana for a two count, but Katch would be able to get a two count off a backslide. No Future Kick landed, but Katch was able to survive!
Double stomp would miss from Soho, and Katch hit a knee strike and piledriver for the near fall. Katch would set up the superplex, but Soho slipped free and almost got the powerbomb. This wouldn’t work, and Soho would now look for a superplex before nearly falling to a top rope piledriver. Instead, Super No Future Kick landed, and Soho got the win!
After the match, they’d huge it out with a big show of respect. Tonight wasn’t the big win Katch wanted, but tonight was perhaps her star making moment.
