Next week All Elite Wrestling are set to do something unseen for weekly wrestling television. They will be taping an episode of AEW Dynamite out on the high seas. This is done as part of Chris Jericho’s Rock ‘N’ Wrestling Rager at Sea. However one unlucky individual will not be making it onto the show, and this is Brandi Rhodes, the wife of Cody Rhodes.
Brandi announced on Twitter that her passport was stolen. This means she will not be able to board the cruise ship as it sails for International Waters. This will of course mean, that outside of pre-taped segments they can air as part of the show, she will not be appearing.
Fans Don’t Like Brandi Rhodes & The Nightmare Collective
While it is unfortunate that she won’t be able to make this landmark event, some fans are very happy about this. Brandi Rhodes has been leading a faction in the womens division called ‘The Nightmare Collective’ It contains herself, Awesome Kong, Mel, and Japanese Deathmatch Legend Luther. The gimmick has come off as more corny than even The Dark Order, and their matches have been lacking. While Awesome Kong is a fantastic worker, Brandi & Mel leave much to be desired, with their tag match against Hikaru Shida & Kris Statlander being one of the worst matches in the AEW Womens Division.
They either need to improve their character work, or recruit superior workers for their matches. Unless something is done, fan backlash will continue for this group. It is just one of many things fans have complained about with the AEW Womens Division.
A Stacked Card
Despite Brandi Rhodes not being able to show up, it will still be a night to remember. The headline matches include Hangman Page & Kenny Omega facing SCU members Frankie Kazarian & Scorpio Sky for the AEW Tag Team Championships, The Inner Circle vs. Jurassic Express, and Jon Moxley vs. PAC to name the number one contender for the AEW Championship. All this action, and it’s on a boat! It will be one of the most visually striking shows you will see all year from any wrestling company.
