The first episode of the Deadly Draw tournament in AEW was a great showing from all ladies involved. We saw an odd tandem of former AEW Women’s Champion, Nyla Rose & Ariane Andrew. Ariane Andrew is the former Cameron from WWE, a tag team partner of Naomi in the Funkadactyls.
However, she’s not staying in AEW, something she wanted to make very clear during a Youtube appearance on her Youtube show ‘Sippin the Tea’ alongside Naomi. She’s still a free agent.
Ariane Andrew Wants To Get The Funkadactyls Back Together
While speaking with Naomi on this show, she would speak on her AEW debut and how she is still a free agent.
“Ok, since we are spilling tea, I’m gonna keep it one-thousand-percent so everyone can hear it right here, right now. I am not with AEW. That was just a little something,”
Naomi would ask if that meant there was a chance for a Funkadactyls reunion and Ariane replied with “It’s not official. So there’s still a door. Hello, Vince! Is you listening? Funkadactyl reunion.”
Fans wouldn’t mind seeing another team in the lacking WWE Women’s Tag Team Division, and Andrew showed some great improvement since her last major appearance. There was a recent campaign to get Naomi a bigger role in WWE, and being a tag team champion could be the ticket to helping satisfy fans.
Burning The AEW Bridge
This is a way to ensure you’re not going to get a deal with AEW however. They must have had no plans to bring her onboard for her to use her first major showing within the last five years to simply try to get back into the company that released her.
Andrew arguably would have had a bigger chance to succeed in the AEW Women’s Division, which is currently desperate for contenders due to injuries and travel bans gutting their roster.
She’s going to remain a free agent for the moment, and her team with Nyla Rose has already been eliminated in the Deadly Draw tag team tournament, having lost to Anna Jay & Tay Conti.
