Hikaru Shida has had the potential to become the best AEW World Women’s Champion yet, but she’s lacked strong opponents. Outside of Thunder Rosa, few have really tested her, so let’s bring back the former champion, Nyla Rose. Their last match was the best women’s match in AEW history, so even if this one had zero build? It’s going to be another great war, but last time was No DQ, but this time it’s normal rules.

Nyla Rose And Vickie Guerrero Go After The Knee

They’d butt heads before things even got started, and once the bell rang, Shida would run in with strikes. She’d waste no time dropping Nyla with two dropkicks and a running knee strike. There wouldn’t be an easy win though, and Rose fired up and used her size. Shida would send Rose out to the apron and kick her leg out, before setting up that running knee lift, and then threw her into the arpon. A chair would be grabbed, and Shida wanted to launch off it, only to run into a clothesline and have the chair kicked away.

Rose grabbed a table from under the ring, but Aubrey Edwards stopped her. While Rose argued with Edwards, Shida set up the chair and hit the knee, sending Rose through the barricade. Edwards would check on Rose, and Vickie Guerrero swung for the fences with a kendo stick to the leg of Shida. The leg of Shida was then tied up in the frame of the ring, Rose using the four count. Rose would wrap the knee of Shida around the ring post, really trying to take away Shidas finisher.

A chop block, some kicks and a foot DDT would do further damage, but it wouldn’t take Shida down. Rose hit a splash across the knees, before grabbing a single leg grab and punching that knee, even going as far to bite the knee. Shida would show some life as Rose went to the top rope, but got thrown to the ring, only just dodging the senton.

A sliding forearm instead of the knee would rock Rose, only getting a two count. Shida looked for the Falcon Arrow, instead getting a brainbuster for a near fall. Rose would block the running knee strike, and look for a backdrop, but Shida landed on her feet and hit the crossbody. Another suplex attempt would be stopped, and Rose ragdolled Shida into the mat.

Hikaru Shida & Nyla Rose Get Cocky

Shida would be propped on the top rope, and Rose hit the diving knee drop to the hurt knee of Shida, instead of the neck. Rose was focused on that hurt limb again, but hasn’t done enough damage to put Shida on the mat full time. Shida fired up and prevented Rose from going up top, hitting a pump kick to send Rose to the stage. A missile dropkick would drop Rose when she got back to the ring, but this only got a two count.

Again, Shida wanted the running knee strike, but got hit with a lariat and a powerbomb. Rose had the pin, but pulled Shida up at two to try and finish Shida with her own finisher. This blatant disrespect had Shida kick out at one, and then counter a Beast Bomb attempt. She’d hit a running knee strike in the corner, and set up a top rope Falcon Arrow. This time Shida cancelled the pin at two, hit the ropes for the running knee but Vickie Guerrero tripped her up.

    Finally Ending This One

Vickie tried to use the kendo stick, but Edwards took it and Rose was thrown into Vickie. Rose was sent into the ring, and Shida hit the Falcon Arrow. The running knee landed, and Rose kicked out due to a poor pinfall attempt. A second running knee, then three standing ones to the face would drop Rose, Shida falling into the pinfall and getting a win.

Afterwards, Vickie Guerrero would yell at Nyla Rose and storm off. This was another great PPV match for Hikaru Shida, but will she get more focus on Dynamite after this show? Are Rose & Guerrero done? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
