It appears as though Bam Margera has settled his wrongful termination suit against the producers of Jackass Forever, according to a TMZ report. The news came down Thursday, April 14 with Margera filing documents to have the whole thing dismissed.
“Jackass” Alum Bam Margera Files to Dismiss Legal Action Against “Jackass Forever” Producers
Margera’s lawsuit targeted Paramount Pictures, Dickhouse Entertainment, Gorilla Flicks, MTV, and producers Johnny Knoxville, Spike Jonze, and Jeffrey Tremaine. The reason for the lawsuit dates back to 2019 when Bam Margera signed a wellness agreement that required him to attend both scheduled and unscheduled daily drug tests.
He was also required to take prescription medication. Failure to do so meant that he would be cut from Jackass Forever when the filming began. The stuntman and prankster would sign the contract without a lawyer present. Fast forward to February 2021 and Margera announces that he’d been axed from the cast.
According to the Jackass alum, he was fired after showing up dirty for Adderall which he claims he’d taken for years for attention deficit disorder and which the production team knew about the whole time. Bam’s legal filing called the agreement on the producers’ end ”a sham Wellness Agreement”.
The basis of the lawsuit was that Bam Margera was fired because of his mental condition, presenting the termination as “discriminatory conduct towards him.” Bam Margera and his struggles with drugs and alcohol have been public for years with him even appearing on Family Therapy with Dr. Jenn in 2014 and going into rehab several times during the 2010s.
With Margera dismissing the lawsuit, it appears that all parties came to an agreement that works for everyone. While the lawsuit meant that he wouldn’t participate in most of the filming, Margera does have a scene in Jackass Forever and a cameo credit.
