Rene Dupree Recalls the Time Vince McMahon Reversed John Laurinaitis Firing The Boogeyman
Having control over a wrestling promotion or any company as Vince McMahon had, there are times when you’ll need to really flex your power. Vince has probably done it multiple times over the decades but one time that was recalled by former WWE Tag Team Champion Rene Dupree was when John Laurinaitis fired The Boogeyman. Rene Dupree Recalls the Time Vince McMahon Reversed John Laurinaitis Firing The Boogeyman The Boogeyman was regular presence on WWE television between 2005 and 2009 and made his home on the SmackDown brand before being drafted to ECW in 2007. His cartoonishly odd character made…
In the same sense but for very different reasons, Sable is given the Chris Benoit Doctrine and never mentioned on WWE television. Sable had been a part of WWE during the Attitude Era from 1996 to 1999. She came in as a valet to then husband “Marvelous” Marc Mero before coming a personality on WWE television during the late New Generation. The Mention of Sable on WWE Television Has Been Prohibited for Years She became a wrestler early into the Attitude Era through an intergender feud pitting her and Mero against Goldust and Luna. After distancing herself from Mero, she…

During the post-match celebration, boxing manager and promoter Don King was revealed as the mystery backer behind the Bomaye Fight Club faction and movement in MLW. The BFC is a faction of Black wrestlers headed up by Alex Kane. MLW Revealing Don King as the Backer of the Alex Kane-led Bomaye Fight Club Was…
The question of “What does X wrestling think of Y” is a common one and pretty much the base of any interview with a wrestler. On his Extreme Life podcast, AEW star Matt Hardy went into his thoughts on the use of blood in wrestling and on AEW’s use of it. Matt Hardy Goes in On AEW and Blood Being Shed Every Week In short, Hardy isn’t a big fan of the bloodletting on air every week. It wouldn’t be a stretch to say that if you tune into AEW Dynamite, someone will be getting their head busted open. Hell,…
While there are many fearless wrestlers, there are some moves that some wrestlers won’t bother attempting—or attempting again in the case of Big E. As we know, Big E is a stocky but large man. He’s similar to a Rhino or Monty Brown: large enough that he’d be hard to topple but compact enough that not only is he hard to topple but he’s like a wrecking ball if he has any speed. What Move Do You Believe WWE Superstar Big E Will NEVER Try Again? So, the guy is built more power than flashy aerial attacks. Sure, it’s not…
If you remember early 90s WCW and Memphis wrestling or have seen NWA Powerrr, Championship Wrestling from Hollywood, or TNA Impact, you’ve seen studio wrestling. In the old territory days, studio wrestling was basically a promotion’s weekly show. The program was meant to get fans out to big events or the weekly show at whatever major venue in their home base. For instance, for Memphis/USWA, their week TV show was aired on Channel 5 and shot at the WMC-TV—Channel 5—studios. In the NWA, Jim Crockett Promotions/WCW shot its programs at TBS Studios. When the company became the NWA and later…
Dirty Dutch Mantel Isn’t Here for WWE and Dominik Mysterio Using the ‘Dirty’ Nickname Without Speaking with Him
There was a time when “The Living Legend” Larry Zbyszko was on Chris Jericho’s case about using the “Living Legend” nickname. Jericho began using the moniker in 2001 and this was around the time WWE wanted Zbyszko to come in and face Y2J. Obviously, that idea was torpedoed and a lawsuit followed. What resulted was decades of snide comments about the other. Fast forward to 2023 and we have another case of this as “Dirty” Dutch Mantel isn’t pleased with WWE RAW superstar “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio. Dirty Dutch Mantel Isn’t Here for WWE and Dominik Mysterio Using the ‘Dirty’ Nickname…
Former WWE U.S Champion Mr. Kennedy Names Stone Cold Steve Austin as Dream Return Opponent
Former TNA, NWA, and WWE superstar Mr. Kennedy left WWE after a very misfortune-riddled career. Just look at his four-year run in the company, he’d be on a clear shot up the roster at rapid speeds before getting injured or some external issue. A prime example of this was his loss of the 2007 Money in the Bank briefcase. He’d received an injury and WWE just dealt with him being injured in December 2005. Mr. Kennedy would win MITB at WWE WrestleMania 23—back when the match was a spectacle/car crash match featured on the show. So, he gets injured a…
It appears that the decision to run with an AEW brand split—which is expected to result in separate rosters for both shows—was decided upon long ago. This should come as no surprise considering how top-heavy its main event picture has been. AEW even has floaters who lean main event and could be if there weren’t so many in that position. The Brand Split in AEW Has Been in the Works for A While Fightful Select recently came across evidence that AEW has been gearing up for a brand split. This evidence is in the form of a trademark for “Transfer…
