It was announced earlier today that All Elite Wrestlings dealings with TNT would continue into 2023, and this would also include a second weekly show. While they could have started a second live weekly show, they will be re-purposing AEW Dark into their second weekly show sometime in 2020.

What Is AEW Dark?

Currently AEW Dark is a YouTube exclusive, which airs on Tuesday nights. It runs an hour, and features matches that were taped before & after AEW Dynamite. You could also find video packages and interviews on the show. It has featured some fantastic matches, including Kenny Omega vs. Joey Janella in a ‘Lights Out Match’, Kenny Omega vs. Kip Sabian, SCU vs. Private Party, and more.

“We’re going to embellish ‘AEW Dark’ and put some additional material, kind of behind the scenes, kind of docu-follow stuff, if you will, about the athletes and the stories,” TNT President Kevin Reilly noted. “I think we should continue to put some stuff out on YouTube just to build that bridge, but not the whole show.”

Between NWA Powerrr & AEW Dark, Tuesday nights became one of the best nights of the week for pro wrestling, and it could stay the same. We might see AEW Dark moved to another night, or it could stay on Tuesday nights.

Even with the move to TNT, it will remain a one hour program. This was confirmed by a video posted by The Elite on Twitter.

What To Expect In The Shift

So we will get roughly the same show, but at a higher level of quality. We should see more top stars showing up on the program, maybe even an appearance from Le Champion himself in the near future. It’s unclear where it will air for international markets. In Canada, it airs on TSN. If we will get AEW Dark on the same network, that is still yet to be seen. AEW Dynamite airs through in some international market, so that might be a safe bet for watching it in most countries.
