With the impending debut of the ‘Murderhawk Monster’ Lance Archer on the next episode of AEW Dynamite, fans have started to wonder who will be the first person to face his wrath. The AEW roster is currently limited due to COVID-19 placing people on lockdown, leaving a few options for the opponent of Archer.
QT Marshall
With him being the resident jobber of AEW, and his connection to the Nightmare Family, QT Marshall would be a suitable first opponent for Archer. The current goal is Cody Rhodes, so targetting someone close to Cody is a great way to add fuel to that fire. QT Marshall has found some tag team success with Dustin Rhodes lately, but has never won a singles match in AEW.
Dustin Rhodes
For some of the same reasons as QT Marshall, we could see the first opponent of Lance Archer be his tag partner, Dustin Rhodes. If the end goal is to send a message to Cody Rhodes, then brutalizing his own brother would be the perfect way to do so. This would also be a much more meaningful victory, as Dustin is a respected veteran who has had some victories in the company. Dustin could be saved for the first real test of Archer however.
Darby Allin
One man in AEW who will never turn down a fight is Darby Allin. The Masochist Daredevil has faced anyone who challenged him head on, most recently feuding with Sammy Guevara of The Inner Circle, defeating him at Revolution. Darby has become one of the top stars in all of AEW, meaning that this would be both a great match and a meaningful victory to get Archer started on the AEW Rankings.
Lance Archer Will Likely Face A Local Talent
On a recent episode of AEW Dark, we saw the talent of AEW face smaller indy stars in a variety of matches, meaning they could use someone from that episode to ensure that Archer comes off looking like an absolute killer. If the intent is to have him be the resident monster heel of AEW, a dominant squash match would establish this and get his Everybody Dies Claw over as a finisher that can brutalize an opponent.
No matter who is placed across from Lance Archer this coming episode of Dynamite, they will suffer the same fate. The Murderhawk Monster, especially with Jake Roberts influencing him is going to be an unmatched force in the company, and that all starts very soon.
