WWE Friday Night SmackDown is on tonight. Below you will be able to see the results from the show as they come plus links to recaps of every segment.
Segment 1: To open the show, out come Bayley and Sasha Banks to run down Paige for setting them up in a multi-way match at WrestleMania to try and drive a wedge between them. Bayley says it’ll never work and they’ll stick together forever, which Sasha seems hesitant to agree to. Before she can say anything, Lacey Evans interrupts to run them down, as does Naomi and finally Tamina. Tamina says “Actions speak louder than words” before taking out both Lacey and Naomi. Sasha and Bayley bail from the ring to avoid getting the same.
Segment 2: In the first match of the night, Drew Gulak took on Shinsuke Nakamura where if he won, his friend Daniel Bryan got a shot at Sami Zayn’s WWE Intercontinental Championship. Cesaro helped Shinsuke avoid a charging attack from Gulak early, so later Bryan did the same for Gulak, aiding him to the victory.
Segment 3: Backstage, Dolph Ziggler talks smack on Otis Dozovic until he rushes in to try and attack him. Officials separate them, Ziggler challenges him to a match at WrestleMania and he accepts. Elias sings a song mocking King Corbin as he stands up in the balcony. Corbin attacks him and throws him from the balcony to the cement below. Alexa Bliss defeated Asuka in a singles match. They then aired the Triple H/Roman Reigns match from WrestleMania 32.
Segment 4: Triple H talks up the differences between Roman Reigns and Bill Goldberg, saying that Roman’s intensity builds whereas Goldberg is fully intense from the beginning, which only lasts so long. Bray Wyatt makes a special challenge to John Cena, demanding he face him in a Firefly Funhouse match, though he doesn’t explain what it means.
Segment 5: In the main event, the Usos faced off with the New Day to determine who would challenge the Miz and John Morrison for the tag team titles at WrestleMania. In the end, the champions attacked both teams to signal the double DQ and as always this means a triple threat defense, this time in a ladder match!
