It has been quite some time since Dr. Britt Baker DMD has wrestled in an AEW ring. She had the Tooth & Nail match with Big Swole at All Out, but that took place in her dentist office. Tonight this changes, as the doctor is in the house and ready to send someone right to her office for some serious dental work.
Britt Baker Is Back To 100%
The Good Doctor is back in action, and Red Velvet would have a chance to break her 0-7 record once again. Velvet is becoming a frequent flyer in AEW, having lost to Tay Conti earlier this week on AEW Dark. However, one big win can do wonders for your career in AEW, but Baker would not make that easy for Red Velvet. Her main advantage was wrestling full time, while this is one of Baker’s first matches back.
Baker would grab an arm, but Velvet would gain control briefly before being taken to the mat. She’d get back up, and take Baker down with a headlock, before ending up in a double underhook hold. Velvet got up and took a big forearm to the face and ended up in the hammerlock.
Baker was taking her time putting Velvet away, but her strikes were hitting flush. However, Velvet hit a flush dropkick and a bulldog for a near fall. Baker would hit a Hammerlock Lariat, unloading on the face of Velvet before hitting a Butterfly Suplex. She’d kick Velvet into the ropes, choke her out, pulling out all her tricks. Finally, she’d hit a curb stomp, and this one was over.
Should Hikaru Shida Be Worried?
With Britt Baker now being back and at 100%, it might be time for a rematch with Hikaru Shida. Earlier this year, they had a match on Dynamite which would lead to Baker getting her nose broken, but it showed just how tough she could be. It’s one of the best AEW matches from the women’s division, and now that Shida is AEW Women’s Champion, the rematch could be perfect for Full Gear.
