After losing in Mimosa Mayhem, Chris Jericho wanted to get back on track in AEW by chasing the coveted AEW World Tag Team Championships with Jake Hager. They were able to beat Joey Janela & Sonny Kiss, Private Party and Chaos Effect, before Jericho got distracted by MJF.

Now that he’s lost to MJF and he’s joined The Inner Circle, Jericho & Hager are back on track with their mission, facing SCU. This is the first time we’ll see Christopher Daniels & Chris Jericho face off, making this a historic moment with 58 combined years of professional wrestling between the two of them.

Chris Jericho Uses The Numbers Advantage

Getting right to it, Jericho & Daniels lock up. The two veterans met for the first time, and they were evenly matched. Jericho hit a shoulder tackle, Daniels hit a leg lariat before throwing some right hands and tagging in Frankie Kazarian. SCU would double team Jericho and hit a lariat to the back of his head, but only got a two count.

Jericho with a crafty eye-poke got to his corner, and Hager would all but maul Kaz in the corner with body shots. Now that he was beaten down, Jericho came back in to pick the bones and soak in the glory for a moment. The Inner Circle would look to isolate Kaz, and did a great job of this. Hager alone was able to use his brute strength to accomplish this, but Kaz is quick on his feet and just barely got the tag to Daniels.

Daniels quickly cut Hager down to size, and hit another Northern Lariat but only got a near fall. Santana at ringside nabbed the leg and that tripped up Daniels long enough for Hager to slam him. Daniels would be dumped out to ringside, where Inner Circle stomped him as Hager distracted the referee.

During a commercial break, Inner Circle would isolate Daniels, and they were very successful in this. He’d be pummelled and thrown around the ring, getting a bit more than he bargined for. Daniels would manage to dodge the Lionsault and that was his opening for a tag to Kaz, but Jericho pulled him back to the corner and Hager came back in.

SCU Come Seconds Away From A Win

Kaz would last through Hager, and take Jericho out again, this time actually getting the tag to Kaz. Kaz would dodge a charging Hager, and do his best to take out both members of Inner Circle and hit a springboard leg drop to Jericho. However, he’d go after the rest of Inner Circle at ringside, allowing Jericho to rest.

SCU would manage to maintain control, taking out Jericho and diving onto Hager, before hitting a big crossbody on Jericho. Jericho tagged in Hager, who ran through Daniels before being hit with a diving flatliner and went for the B.M.E, nailing it flush but Jericho broke the pin up.

MJF used the Dynamite Diamond ring to deck Daniels behind the back of the referee. Jericho would hit the Judas Effect, and Hager covered for the pin. Afterwards, The Inner Circle swarmed SCU with a 7-2 advantage after Kaz punched MJF in the face, and Sky made the save with a steel chair.

Is Inner Circle beatable as a seven man unit? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
