Batwoman has announced its new Kate Kane. The season 2 of the show will see actress Wallis Day play the role of Kate Kane, which was formerly played by Ruby Rose in the first season.

Actress, Wallis Day confirmed via Instagram that she’s taking on the role of Kate Kane. She shared her excitement in an Instagram post on March 21.

“Super excited to finally announce I’m joining the cast of Batwoman,” the 26-year-old actress shared. “I’m sure you can imagine how much this means to me and how incredible it’s been working on the show so far. It’s a huge responsibility stepping into the shoes of a character that’s already been established and it’s a journey I’m looking forward to being a part of and hoping you guys do too. Everyone’s made me feel so welcome and it’s amazing being back home with my DC family.”
Arrowverse fans will recall that Ruby Rose Was originally cast to play the role of Kate Dane, but she left the show after the first season. After this, Javicia Leslie stepped in and played the role of Ryan Wilder, who acts as Batwoman after Kate disappeared.
So What Happened To Kate Lane?
On Sunday night, Batwoman revealed to fans what happened to Kate Kane. Kate’s whereabout have been unknown since Javicia Leslie stepped in as Ryan Wilder. However, the mystery has been solved as Wallis Day steps into the role Ruby Rose played. This doesn’t mean Javicia is off the show. In fact, Kate Kane’s reintroduction solidifies Leslie’s role as the one and only Batwoman. Leslie is also the first black actress to play the iconic superhero.
Fans will know Kate Kane’s whereabouts on the second half of this season. On Sunday night, viewers find out that Kate Kane is alive but the injuries she sustained in the crash have left her unrecognizable. The superhero is bandaged and being held hostage. Wallis Day will play an altered version of Kate Dane.
Wallis Day is an upcoming actress. She shed Nyssa-Vex in Syfy’s Krypton TV series, so she has experience acting in a superhero show.
