Flavor Flav, who is best known for his time in the hit rap group Public Enemy, has been arrested on the grounds of domestic violence.

The news sent shockwaves around his fanbase, given that he was known for championing people’s rights through his music. But the fact that the group are not as influential as they once were, the rapper’s life has descended into mediocrity from those previous high moments.
According to TMZ, Flavor Flav had apparently poked his finger into the nose of the victim. Then a disturbance ensued, after which he had grabbed her, threw her down and snatched her phone from her hand.
It was during these moments that the police were called before they took him away for a misdemeanour. Nevertheless, there is more to this story than meets the eye, which will become clear in due course.
In an official statement, Flavor Flav’s lawyer David Chesnoff, urged others to wait for more information before judging his client. He said: “In alleged domestic violence cases, there are often two sides to the story, and we will explain our side in the courtroom and not in the media.”
Flavor Flav, prior to this incident, had been dealing with his issues very well. He did have at one point a drinking issue, but he managed to stay sober for over a year, suggesting that he was dealing with his demons.
Not only that, but he had made the decision to give up smoking. It is not clear whether a potential relapse may have contributed to this latest incident.
And yet, this is not the first time that a member of the group has been in the spotlight. The group’s other member Professor Griff had been kicked out after he had apparently made comments that were deemed to be anti-Semitic.
Although he denied saying anything of the sort, Professor Griff had tarnished the group that was making so much noise in the music scene.
Fans will no doubt be speculating as to what has happened with Flavor Flav, but in the meantime, the only thing that we can do is wait for the outcome of the investigation.
