Nyla Rose & Ruby Soho are both just two wins away from history. Much like Thunder Rosa & Jade Cargill, Rose & Soho are so close to the TBS Championship that they can practically taste it. However, being in a single elimination tournament means one mistake takes you out, and this deep in – neither lady wants to be the one to make that mistake.
AEW Honors Owen Hart With Great Video Package
Before this, we’d get information on the next big tournament. AEW is honouring a true legend of professional wrestling in Owen Hart. One of the best workers of his era, Hart was beloved by his co-workers and fans alike, but his life met a tragic end in 1999. His widow Martha Hart has finally opened up to allowing a company to honor him, and AEW is not taking this lightly.
We’d get a video package of his friends praising him, and AEW stars showing how he inspired them to not just get into wrestling – but to be good people. The tournament will start early in 2022, with the finals set for Double or Nothing 2022. We will have two tournaments, one for the men and one for the women – and they seem like they’ll be single elimination rules.
Nyla Rose Gets The Jump On Her Opponent
Ruby Soho was the clear fan favorite in this match, but Rose would drop her before she even finished her entrance. Rose was able to keep flaunting her power edge with some clubbing blows, before Soho would grab the arm and do some damage— before being driven into the mat with a uranage. Soho would block a powerbomb attempt, before taking the short arm lariat.
Rose took the fight to the outside of the ring, where Soho showed she can fight too. She’d fire some headbutts to stun Rose, before trying to ram her into the steel steps — with Vickie Guerrero making the save. Soho hit the steel steps, and Rose would get into the ring and wait for her to get back to her feet.
Back in the ring, a scoop slam into a leg drop would punish Soho. Rose would almost be caught with Deadly Nightshade in the corner, but was instead worked into a reverse Alabama Slam — Soho taking a face full of turnbuckle as she was swung down. Soho blocked a running body splash with double knees, before throwing some lariats and getting a huge DDT for a two count.
Ruby Soho Punches Her Ticket To The Finals Of The TBS Championship Tournament
Rose would grab a steel chair from under the ring, and Soho would use this to her advantage — hitting a diving dropkick off the apron. The steel chair smacked Rose in the face, but Vickie Guerrero would even the odds by shoving Soho off the top rope. Soho was left hanging for the diving knee strike. Rose wouldn’t be able to get the three count, but she was saved from the submission attempt of Soho by Guerrero distracting the referee.
Guerrero took the No Future Kick, before Soho was caught with a Beast Bomb. Rose got greedy and climbed the ropes, but with one good arm – Soho pulled her down into the No Future Kick for the win!
