Shawn Spears has one of the biggest matches of his career coming up on Wednesday, as he will go one on one with CM Punk. First, he needs to take on the Deadlock Pro Wrestling legend – Andrew Everett. Jokes aside, Everett is one of the best high flyers around in professional wrestling today, and will not take this chance in AEW lightly. A win tonight could change his career overnight.
Shawn Spears Doesn’t Waste Time With The Likes Of Andrew Everett – Plans To Destroy CM Punk
Before this match, we’d catch up on the rivalry with Mercedes Martinez & Thunder Rosa. Martinez cost Rosa her chance to be TBS Champion, and next time they meet it will be a brawl for the ages. Both ladies just want some respect on their names, and will tear each other apart to get it.
Everett was the hometown boy in North Carolina, but Spears was treating him like a rookie. He’d cartwheel and taunt at Everett – before setting up and nailing the C4 – his signature version of the Death Valley Driver. It was over just like that. After the match, he’d ponder why CM Punk is the Best in the World, when he travelled the same roads.
He was the man who wasn’t supposed to make it, that wasn’t markettable. Spears gave blood, sweat and tears to professional wrestling, and he will show Punk that on Wednesday. He’s the threat you don’t see coming – and isn’t a one trick pony with limited experience. Punk is going in with a 20 year veteran, and he’s ready to exploit every weakness Punk has shown.
Women’s Trio Action Show Statlander & Hirsch Can’t Co-Exist
The AEW Women’s division is hotter than ever with two titles now available. Tonight, six of the divisions best will clash in a trios match, as Nyla Rose teams up with Penelope Ford & The Bunny, and Kris Statlander finds allies in Leyla Hirsch & Red Velvet. Lots of talent on deck, and much to be gained from getting the deciding fall – this one might see some infighting.
Statlander & Rose would be set to start, but Hirsch tagged herself in. She’d be dwarfed by Rose, and thrown across the ring with ease. Statlander tried to make the save as Bunny & Ford would attack Hirsch, but the referee had his eyes in the wrong place. Hirsch got to the corner and Statlander tagged herself in to take on The Bunny.
Statlander got a two count off a great powerslam, before Velvet tagged in. She’d get thrown by Statlander right onto Bunny. Hirsch & Velvet would work together, but Hirsch & Statlander would fail to find the same connection. Velvet would be cornered by a chokeslam from Rose, before Ford & Bunny nailed some hard strikes in the neutral corner.
Getting desperate for a tag, Velvet would barely survive a chokeslam from Rose. Statlander would get the tag, and met a now legal Penelope Ford with a Gordbuster for a two count. Ford wanted the cutter, but Statlander would block into the spider crab – with The Bunny making the save with a superkick.
Bunny would get the tag and take the Blue Thunder Bomb. Hirsch again tagged herself in. The Bunny took advantage of this and rolled up Hirsch for the win.
Will Hirsch cost Kris Statlander her mixed tag match with Orange Cassidy on Dynamite? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
