Tony Kahn has been promoting surprises the last few weeks, and tonight’s AEW Dynamite episode is another with the promise of a new announcement.
While there aren’t much in the way of spoilers out there, there is plenty of speculation going around as to what the big news is.
Andrew Zarian shared what could be a spoiler on Twitter by saying, “A lot of chatter regarding Tony’s big announcement tonight.
“Spoke to someone this morning and was told that “In many circles, it’s believed AEW & HBO Max have agreed to a deal”.
“Also, mentioned AEW has secured access to an “International Pro Wrestling Promotions catalog”
“All I really know regarding this.
“I’m not sure what “International Pro Wrestling Promotion” could be.”

Adding Ring of Honor
If Andrew’s information is correct and AEW and HBO Max have agreed to a deal, then it’s likely we’ll get a back log of AEW’s shows from television to their pay-per-views.
This makes sense given how much AEW puts on Youtube as it builds their own library for prospective streaming services or a TV deal.
But there could be more.
“The International Pro Wrestling Promotions catalog” could have several meanings as Chris Jericho recently said he thinks AEW and NJPW will work closely together once Japan opens up.
But the more likely scenario is Tony purchased ROH or agreed on the rights to the ROH library catalog. There have been rumors as of yesterday that ROH still has their library is still for sale.
This is pure speculation, but if true, then fans will also get the ROH library on HBO Max with AEW’s library.
Adds to the game
This would put AEW on another level to match up with the WWE better as many fans would love to go back and rewatch our favorite Dynamite and other shows currently unavailable.
This would be an important and big step as AEW would join the WWE and Impact Wrestling as having official streaming sites and could be used to bring in more fans.
Of course, we’ll have to wait to hear what Tony Kahn has to say tonight, and we’re looking forward to what his news is.
There’s an excitement right now among fans as we get to see so many companies grow and find a second life they may not have had a few years ago.
