Amanda Bynes is “very interested” in getting back on TV via a revival of her sitcom What I Like About You. The show was very popular in the early 2000s and was one of the shows that established The WB’s focus on the younger demographics prior to its rebranding as The CW.
Amanda Bynes Believes a Reboot of “What I Like About You” is “A Great Idea” and Would Love to Work with the Cast Again
In speaking with TMZ, Bynes said that she believes “it’s a great idea to reboot the show” but she has brought it up to co-stars Jennie Garth and Leslie Grossman. However, she is hopeful that the idea takes shape somehow:
“I miss them and would love to work with them again. I don’t miss acting but I loved this show, so I’d be down to return to acting for this revival. It would be a great experience to continue the show.”
While there has been any actual interest from studios to get this bird in the sky, co-star Jennie Garth would also like to see What I Like About You get the reboot treatment. What’s interesting is that they both mention not contacting the other about jumping on board for this project but the interest is there mostly for the bonding,
Right now, it’s in a “reach out to me about it” stage with the two actresses. As for the chances of a reboot for the show, Full House, Roseanne, Boy Meets World, and That’s So Raven are all sitcoms that go the reboot treatment. Going outside of just sitcoms and we have a few more shows from the 90s and 00s that got a new coat of paint for a new generation of viewers.
So, it’s not far-fetched that What I Like About You could get a reboot. It’s just a matter of viewer interest, network interest, getting the band back together, and bringing in some fresh talent.
