One of the witnesses called to the stand in the Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard, defamation trial, Morgan Higby Night had previously called the actress “jealous and crazy” on Twitter.
Witness Testifies Against Amber Heards Claims In Court
On Tuesday, filmmaker and motel owner Morgan Higby Night took the stand in Fairfax, Virginia, where it was confirmed that he was the one behind an April 21 tweet that was posted in response to a tweet from @ThatUmbrella. Part of @ThatUmbrella tweet read, “Johnny Depp will be accused of being jealous because a woman was ‘sitting close’ to Amber Heard.”

“Depp said she had ‘taken happy something.’ Deep [sic] is accused of ‘removing her hand and yelling at Amber'” Night tweeted in response, saying, “That never happened. I was with them all night. Amber was the one acting all jealous and crazy š³.” At one point, Amber Heard’s attorney, Elaine Bredehoft asked the filmmaker “You are a pretty big fan of Johnny Depp, aren’t you?”, and he replied, “I am not,” which caused many of the people in the courtroom to burst into laughter. Night used to own a luxury desert trailer-park where a group getaway in 2013 with the estranged couple and their friends allegedly turned violent.
Amber testified that Johnny had grabbed a female friend of hers at the Hicksville trailer park by the wrist because due to jealousy, and began smashing items inside their trailer. However, Night said that he “never saw Depp get physical with anyone.”
He went on to testify about an argument between the estranged couple that he witnessed, saying, “She was upset at him and she was yelling at him… He was kind of cowering and seemed almost afraid, and it was really, like, odd to see because he was older than her obviously, but I just went back in the house.”
Pirates Of The Caribbean actor, Johnny Depp is currently suing Heard for defamation in the trial that kicked off April 11, arguing that her 2018 op-ed for The Washington Post about how she is a domestic violence survivor. He said that this ruined his reputation and career opportunities, even though his name was not mentioned.
The duo tied the knot in 2015 and broke up in May 2016, when the Aquaman actress sought a domestic violence restraining order against him, saying that he abused her. Johnny denied the claims, and they settled their divorce out of court in August 2016.
The actor has sworn many times that he has never struck Amber or any woman. On the other hand, Amber told the jury, “I struggle to find the words to describe how painful this is. This is horrible for me to sit here for weeks and relive everything.”
