Ben Stiller was the latest celebrity to put his support behind Ukrainian refugees as he made a visit to Poland to meet volunteers helping displaced Ukrainians.
Ben Stiller Visits Poland To Support Ukrainian Refugees-‘I’m Here To Learn, To Share Stories’
Ben, for his part, is a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. And as part of that role, he arrived in the city of Rzeszow to discuss how people could offer their assistance to those in need.
In the picture here, we can see that Ben is in deep discussion with two volunteers. In the background, we can see numerous supplies that are being prepared in order to be given to those that need it.
The post was captioned by the following comments: “I’m here to learn, to share stories that illustrate the human impact of war and to amplify calls for solidarity.
“I hope you’ll follow along and share your own messages of support, for people who have fled their homes in Ukraine.” Ben’s visit also happens to be in light of the fact that ‘World Refugee Day’ is set to take place on Monday, 20th June 2022.
This is a day held annually by the United Nations in order to honour and celebrate the work that has been done by refugees across the globe. And in line with that, Ben’s comments go on to show the bravery of civilians who have suffered in and amongst the war.
The response on social media was positive. People praised Ben for going out of his way when there was no obligation on him to do so.
After all, he could have decided to distance himself from the conflict which has divided people over what is the best way to stop it. One person wrote: “Thank you, Ben, for your supporting Ukrainian people!”
The sooner that this conflict ends, then the better it is for everyone concerned. And hopefully, that is sooner rather than later. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
