NJPW G1 Climax D-Block Results: Juice Robinson [4] Defeats El Phantasmo [2] Via DQ (08/07)

El Phantasmo was lucky enough to end up with the first back to back block matches in the G1 Climax, and last night was dropped on his head by YOSHI-HASHI. Tonight, he will face fellow BULLET CLUB member Juice Robinson – who is not known for holding his punches. The Junior Heavyweight has been getting more and more serious as this tournament continues, and tonight – ELP will look to get the biggest win of his year against the #2 man in BULLET CLUB.

Juice Robinson & El Phantasmo Are Playing Games Tonight

ELP had claimed that him and Robinson would work tonight straight – and would fist bump and too sweet before locking up. A good clean professional wrestling match between two members of BULLET CLUB is technically possible, and they’d be slow to lock up. Someone farted in the ring however, possibly the referee.

Robinson would grab an arm wrench, before ELP blocked out into a wrist lock. Chain wrestling would follow, before some slow running of the ropes – before Robinson would go for the senton, but would be tripped by ELP. It was basically just the Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels match over the European Championship, and the foolishness would end when both men nearly got pinfalls – if not for feet on the ropes or pulled tights.

The referee would be bullied, before Robinson & ELP would crack heads trying to run him down. Robinson grabbed a chair, and ELP grabbed a table and set it up. It was a good ol’ fashion arm wrestling match, and the referee made it official. ELP would use two hands to win, and that gets him zero points and a chair thrown at his head.

    El Phantasmo Makes A Mistake

Robinson would take ELP up the stage, and nailed him with a piledriver – and shoved him off to the concrete. He’d take the referee by the hand, pulled them to the ring, and told him to start the count. ELP was rocked, but would make the ring by the count of nineteen.

Robinson would apply the Overhook Boston Crab, a variant made popular by Hiroyoshi Tenzan. ELP would fight free and send Robinson to the floor, before a big dive. Robinson would have his head literally driven through the table, and ELP would punch away.

ELP would look to hit the moonsault from ring, but Robinson would move off – so ELP redirected himself for the tope con hiro – before the Thunder Kiss ‘86 from the middle of the ropes. Styles Clash would land, before looking to hit One Winged Angel. Robinson would block and look for Pulp Fricition. ELP would would slip free, before a punch to the jaw. Pulp Friction would land, and ELP somehow kicked out at two.

ELP threw a chair at the head of Robinson in the ring – and while out of the ring this will be given a warning – but in the ring, instant DQ. Robinson doesn’t look like a winner, but leaves with two points.

Will ELP be fine in BULLET CLUB after this match? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.

A wrestling fan practically since birth, who has been hooked since he got his first toy wrestling ring for Christmas as a child. Since getting access to the internet, he's watched more wrestling than he could ever remember from all around the world. It's hard to keep track of what happens in the wild world of professional wrestling, but he always tries to stay up to date. Note: No relation to Tully Blanchard of Four Horsemen fame (probably).
