Back when Mandy Rose was just making her NXT debut, she’d almost had her face broken by the Sunray Dropkick from Sarray. Since then, Rose has been able to reinvent herself as one of the best champions in the brand’s history. However, Sarray has been honing her skills in NXT UK – and tonight will challenge Rose one on one.
Mandy Rose Shows Why She’s The NXT Women’s Champion
Sarray would start this one off with some chain wrestling, before hitting the ropes for a big running crossbody. A flying crossbody from the top rope would follow, with Rose blocking into a slam for a two count. Sunset Flip from Sarray would get a two count, before setting up that Sunray Dropkick – only for Rose to flee the ring and catch Sarray in the ropes and hotshot her off the ropes.
Rose would choke Sarray in the corner with a knee, before a slam in the ring for a two count.
Sarray would hit the springboard armdrag before the drop toehold, and nailed the front dropkick off the middle rope. Fisherman Suplex would follow, but Rose was again able to kick out. Spinebuster would follow, before the running knee strike would get Rose the win.
She defends the NXT Women’s Championship at Heatwave – and said this is what awaits Zoey Stark. Rose would grab a steel chair, and attack the knee of Sarray. Stark would make the save before serious damage would be done – and will be keen to not end up like this in two weeks.
Axiom Will Not Be Bullied By The Likes Of Duke Hudson
Backstage, an interview with Axiom would lead to Duke Hudson crashing it – and calling Axiom and undersized nerd. They’d brawl into the ring, with Hudson kicking Axiom around the ring before a massive swinging side slam. No one would try to save the former A-Kid, and would say this is why you don’t look up to heroes – they will let you down. Axiom would grab the microphone and say that things have changed – and that Hudson is wrong -and will prove it RIGHT NOW.
Hudson hit the ring with a referee slipping in, and this became an impromptu match. Axiom would get kicked from the ring, before being able to fight back in the ring. A uranage out of the corner would plant Hudson, before Axiom showed some fight before the Razorz Edge was countered into a hurricanrana. A victory roll would follow, and Axiom claimed the win!
Tony D’Angelo Sees A Ghost From His Past
Tony D’Angelo’s family would be able to defeat Diamond Mine last week in an eight man tag team match. Tonight, he will team up with Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo, and will take on The Creed Brothers. The NXT Tag Team Championships are also on the line, and tonight could be the first taste of gold for the D’Angelo Family.
Julius Creed would kick things off with D’Angelo, grabbing a tight headlock – before Stacks hit the ring. Brutus would hit a big fireman’s carry, before D’Angelo would tag in and hit a twisting X-Plex. A Belly to Belly Suplex would follow, before Stacks applied a double wrist lock on the mat.
Julius would weather the storm, but suplexes Stacks into a tag from D’Angelo. The pressure was kept on, before Stacks applied the Single leg Boston crab. He’d break free, and get the tag to Brutus – who would smash through Stacks. The hand would be attacked, and that is something D’Angelo learned during his wars with Pete Dunne.
Brutus would get the tag to Julius, and would be able to beat D’Angelo down with a big suplex. Stacks would get smashed by the double hammerfists of Brutus – as Tony D’Angelo went for a crowbar. He’d be met with the man he tried to tack out with Santos Escobar. A brass knuckle punch to the jaw would follow, and Julius would nail the sliding lariat to retain.
