After PAC was able to successfully defend the AEW All-Atlantic Championship against Kip Sabian during All Out: Zero Hour – a familiar foe would step up. Orange Cassidy would come out, with a title shot in mind. PAC would be quick to shut down this idea, being sick of dealing with Cassidy from their matches in 2021 – but tonight, needs to face Cassidy all the same.
It’s Best Friends vs. Death Triangle in trios action, and a Best Friends win could set Cassidy up for a title shot at AEW Grand Slam later this month. Due to The Elite being suspended, this match would become for the AEW World Trios Championships.
Death Triangle Claims AEW World Trios Championships
Cassidy would start off with Penta, before taking the kick to the chest. Trent & Chuck would cut down the Lucha Bros before being sent to the floor. Best Friends avoided a triple dive to the floor, and launched Cassidy onto all of Death Triangle. They’d brawl up to the ramp, where Best Friends maintained control – before Penta would be pinned in the ring for a two count.
PAC would get the tag and get some heavy strikes on Trent, with Fenix keeping the pressure on. Trent would manage to get the tag to Cassidy, who would take the Lucha Bros down with a double hurricanrana – while Danhausen tried to curse Alex on the floor… before taking a straight low blow.
Chuck would avoid the two on one attack from Lucha Bros in the mat, before a backstabber and the cazadora for the two count. Half & Half/Sole Food combo was followed by a classic Best Friends hug – before Trent hit the massive swinging DDT.
Things broke down into a brawl, with Death Triangle standing tall after Crunchy was blocked with a double superkick into the Code Red. Trent kicked out, and hit Crunchy on Fenix as Chuck hit the Awful Waffle. Death Triangle responded with a triple destroyer before the Fear Factor on Chuck, setting up the Black Arrow – and Death Triangle are the new AEW World Trios Champions.
Toni Storm
At All Out, Toni Storm would be the one left standing when the dust settled on a chaotic Fatal Four Way match – and got to raise the Interim AEW Women’s World Championship high. Tonight, she faces Penelope Ford in a match, and should Ford claim the win tonight – a future title shot will be following her. Ford has been keen on getting back into the mix following her return to injury, and with Storm likely still feeling the damage of Sunday – has a huge chance tonight.
Kip Sabian was in the corner of Ford here tonight, adding some extra motivation. She’d take Storm down to the mat as this match began, with Storm able to counter out and apply the side headlock. Storm would hit the shotgun dropkick before looking for the hip attack, with Ford able to dodge.
Ford would yank Storm face first into the ring ropes, before hitting a dropkick to the back of the head for a two count. The surfboard stretch would be applied, but Storm was able to break free and hit the uppercut and hip attack in the corner before hitting the DDT for the win.
