Carter was found dead in a bathtub after the house sitter had allegedly informed the authorities that someone may have drowned. As a result, he left behind Melanie and their son, Prince, who was only born last year.
That has understandably left her in a difficult position since she and her son will have to cope without his presence. And by the looks of it, the news has shaken up Melanie.
In an official statement to TMZ, she said: “My fiancé Aaron Carter has passed away. I love Aaron with all my heart and it’s going to be a journey to raise a son without a father.
“Please respect the privacy of my family as we come to terms with the loss of someone we love greatly.” The impact of this news has already begun to take its toll, as shown by Melanie’s social media activity.
In the picture here, we can see that she has shared an image of herself kissing Aaron. The post was captioned by the following comments: “My baby. I can’t breathe.” Much in the same way, Aaron had been delighted by the prospect of finally having some happiness in his life.
He had previously spoken about how he never thought he would have been in a position to have children, but when he did so, he could not have been any happier.
In some prior comments at the time, Carter remarked: “It’s all a beautiful blessing because I’ve had a lot of relationships and I started [to] kind of [give] up on love. I was talking about having a family years ago.”
With Melanie clearly in mourning, she will need the support of those around her to make sure that she is in a good place moving forward.
