President Joe Biden’s gaffes are becoming more and more frequent as time passes. His public slips are getting out of control as he continuously embarrasses himself and the United States in front of numerous people across the world.
In the most recent gaffe, President Joe Biden confuses Cambodia with Colombia, in front of the Cambodian Prime Minister. Instead of thanking Cambodia for hosting the ASEAN Summit, President Joe Biden thanked Colombia. And this wouldn’t have been a problem if it was done by one of the less important attendees. However, when the United States President makes such a mistake insinuating that he doesn’t know in which country he is, things get a little bit more serious.
Joe Biden Confuses Cambodia With Colombia In Front Of Cambodian Officials
“It was an honor to host at the White House in May. Now that we are back together in Cambodia, I look forward to building even stronger progress than we’ve already made… And I want to thank the prime minister of Colombia for his leadership as ASEAN chair and for hosting all of us.” – President Biden said to the audience, in the presence of the country’s officials.
According to the New York Post, President Joe Biden makes such a mistake for the second time this week. Both times he made the mistake when speaking to a big crowd. Both times he had the country’s officials present. According to political analysts, this leaves a bad picture for the United States. Furthermore, it gives a notion that President Joe Biden doesn’t give the needed respect to other country’s officials. He doesn’t pay much attention to the importance of being correct and respectful in such moments.
On Thursday, before traveling to Cambodia, the President told reporters that he is flying to Colombia. Even though this time he corrected himself, such gaffes are getting more frequent.
This is not the first time that President Joe Biden makes such a mistake this month. Just days ago, he made another gaffe. He confused the Ukrainian city of Kherson with the Iraqi city of Fallujah. At the press conference, attended by numerous journalists, the President created confusion. He told that the Russian soldiers are pulling out of ‘Fallujah’ while trying to say Kherson.
Just weeks before this incident, the President somehow managed to mispronounce the UK’s Prime Minister’s name, Rishi Sunak. He congratulated the Prime Minister on his mandate and praised his meeting with him as a ‘groundbreaking moment’. However, instead of calling him by his name, he said ‘Rashee Sanook’.
