We’re just a few short days away from Bryan Danielson main eventing his first PPV event for All Elite Wrestling. He’s set to meet MJF in a Sixty Minute Iron Man match with the AEW World Championship on the line. While the feud had a rocky start, Danielson & MJF have turned this into a massively heated feud – making fans excited for what could be one of the best matches in the careers of both men. It’s the first main event of Danielson in AEW – but he’s used to being in the spot, having been in the main event of massive events in WWE, even WrestleMania 37.
Bryan Danielson Felt Nothing During WrestleMania 37 Main Event
While speaking with Sports Illustrated ahead of his upcoming main event match against MJF – Danielson would recount the last time he found himself in the main event of a PPV. This was when he faced Edge & Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 37 for the WWE Universal Championship. While some fans consider this to be one of the best main events in WrestleMania history – Danielson felt that match didn’t mean anything to him. He’d have the following to say.
“That was a match people enjoyed. It didn’t mean anything to me. I felt nothing. You have to remember—it was our first time back in front of a live crowd since the start of the pandemic, and we were in front of thousands of people. I felt nothing during that match. I was trying my best, but it felt like I was going through the motions.
Then I wrestled Roman in the ThunderDome in front of all these screens, and I loved that match. It was the perfect way for me to end my WWE career. Putting together the WrestleMania match, I could feel a little bit of my apathy, but that’s happened before and then I walk out there and I feel, ‘This is what I live for.’ That was very weird psychologically.
Danielson has reignited his passion for professional wrestling as part of AEW, and has been giving some of the best performances of his career. Did you enjoy the final matches of Danielson as part of the WWE roster? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
